REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION


Headliner
NOTE: Headliner with roof opening panel is shown. Headliner without opening panel is similar. 1. If equipped, remove the rear auxiliary A/C controls. For additional information, refer to Section 412-00. If equipped, remove the rear entertainment system. For additional information, refer to Section 415-00. Remove the overhead console. For additional information, refer to Overhead Console in this section. NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the lower safety belt anchor bolts to position aside the upper B-, C- and D-pillar trim panels. Remove the A-pillar trim panels and position aside the upper B-, C- and D-pillar trim panels. For additional information, refer to Interior Trim Panels in this section. 5. If equipped, remove the gimp around the roof opening panel.

Rotate the cover to remove.

Install in the reverse order of removal. Item 4: Sun Visor Electrical Connector Removal Note 1. Carefully lower the headliner at the corner of the sun visor location to access the electrical connector.

Item 1: Sun Visor Retainer Cover Removal Note 1. Release the sun visor retainer cover tab.

Item 6: Interior Mirror Electrical Connector Removal Note 1. If equipped, disconnect the electronic compass sensor electrical connector.

Slide a small flat-blade screwdriver under the cover to release the second retainer tab.

2. If equipped, disconnect the interior mirror electrical connector.

3. Item 7 and Item 9: Cargo Lamp Cover Removal Note 1. Use a thin-bladed tool to carefully remove the lamp cover.

If equipped with auxiliary A/C, remove the lower air duct.

Item 11: Headliner Electrical Connectors (Rear) Removal Note 1. NOTE: The rear seat must be in the folded down position. Position aside the LH rear quarter trim panel.

Disconnect the electrical connector located at the C-pillar. Release the wiring harness pin-type retainers.

If equipped with auxiliary A/C, remove the upper air duct. Remove the pin-type retainers. Push down on the duct, tilt top outward and pull upward to remove.

5. Disconnect all of the electrical connectors.

Item 16: Garment Hook Removal Note Item 13: Headliner Electrical Connector (Front) Removal Note 1. Disconnect the electrical connector and the wiring pin-type retainers on the A-pillar. 1. CAUTION: To prevent damaging the garment hanger retainer, use a 3/16-inch flat blade screwdriver to carry out this step. NOTE: The garment hanger is shown without the roof sheet metal to show the metal retainer clip. The metal retainer clip will remain engaged in the sheet metal after the garment hanger is removed. Remove the second and third row garment hangers. 1 2 3 Open the access cover. Insert the flat blade screwdriver fully into the garment hanger slot. Rotate the screwdriver 90 degrees so that the screwdriver spreads the metal retainer clip. Remove the plastic garment hanger.

Item 15: Sun Visor Center Retainer Removal Note CAUTION: To prevent bending or damaging the headliner, an assistant is required to support the liner while carrying out the remaining steps. 1. Open the center retainer cover to access the screw.

Item 17: Headliner Removal Note 1. NOTE: The rear seat must be in the folded down position. The front seats must be in the fully reclined position. Tilt the RH side of the headliner upward and remove the headliner from the rear of the vehicle. Item 4: Sun Visor Electrical Connector Installation Note 1. Install new tape around the sun visor wiring harness-to-headliner before installing the visor.
