Absenteeism can be defined as any event when a student does not attend school.

Absenteeism can be affected by any number of factors such as lack of community support, dysfunctional family life, severe weather, personal illness, family illness, physical limitations or any other reason why a student may not attend school on a given day. Student absenteeism is a problem within school systems involving all ages and there is little evidence that attendance rates are improving. The issue of school attendance affects the kindergarten, elementary, middle and high schools. Absenteeism increases with each grade level and students gradually become more disengaged from school. The problems of absenteeism begin in primary school and continue into secondary school, which makes early intervention necessary to try to prevent students from continuing on this path throughout their educational experiences. Meanwhile, there are some of factor that influencing truancy such as influencing of friends and peers, poor relationships with teachers, content and delivery of curriculum, family concerns such as parental attitudes and domestic problems, bullying, and classroom management One of the factors that can affect truancy among students is influenced by the attitude of the students themselves. This occurs when students prefer to entertainment that influence them to not attend school. This resulted in an increase in the truancy problem that can have a negative impact on learning in schools. Evidence, students are more vulnerable to poor activities such as wasting time hanging out with friends, watching movies and other inappropriate activities. Besides, they thought that learning in school is boring. This can have a negative effect on the change in attitude of the students. For example they will become lazier and give up in the pursuit of knowledge in school. Changes in student attitudes will cause concern to the school. In addition, family factors can also influence truancy among students. As we know, the family is the biggest influence in a person. Among these are the influences of family background of students who are not in harmony. For example parental neglect is not responsible for their children because of busy pursuing their careers. This causes children to feel themselves neglected and not getting the full attention of the parents. This will influence them to get stuck in this school truancy. Furthermore, the economic situation is less stable family can also because students do not attend school because they feel they cannot afford to buy school equipment as other pupils. This situation will affect the thinking of students to not attend school for fear of being teased by other school friends. In addition, the influence of teachers is also one of the reasons students do not attend school. Attitude that is too strict in disciplining students cause fear in the students. They feared to be punished by teachers if they made a mistake, so they react to not attend school. Sometimes outrageous attitude of teachers in a sentence that is disproportionate to the offense committed. Reverence for disadvantaged students and often intimidating students with a firm attitude. In addition, students will also be less interested to learn when they are taught by teachers who lack interest. As teachers, they must show a positive attitude to ensure that students are comfortable to attend and follow the easy learning. This can facilitate the process of learning to do. Next is the influence of peers. a friend is someone who is most familiar with the individual. Every action taken is often influenced by the behaviour of both partners in a positive direction or a negative direction. Peers who bring a negative influence may bring disrepute upon himself a

student. Normally students will be affected by new things. These students also have the desire to try. This is caused by a factor of a person who is easily influenced by their peers. Lastly, school facilities also influence factors of truancy involving students. School environment that is less cheerful and interest students can influence learning and teaching. The attitude of teachers and students who are not friendly can bring discomfort students to study. This hampers the students are not interested in coming to school. Changes in the school environment can also influence students to miss school. Example, school setting near shopping malls or entertainment venues that can sniff like cinema, computer centre and other entertainment. In conclusion, truancy among students is a problem that must be addressed in Malaysia. if not tackled this problem would have an adverse impact on the society and the nation. This is due to the youth of the country's future leaders. Therefore, a particular party should undertake appropriate action to resolve the issue of continued widespread. With this, we can create a generation of successful and useful in the future.
