User Adjustable Low Voltage Battery Disconnect (LVD) - For 12 Volt Batteries If you want to protect your battery

from discharging, our Low Voltage Battery Disconnect is your best alternative. It protects your battery without any kind of human intervention. Yes, it disconnects and connects automatically, and it comes with a bunch of other features as well. This user adjustable LVD is ideal for solar panel and/or wind turbine users, RV owners, and anyone who uses 12 volt batteries from time to time. Why Use a Low Voltage Battery Disconnect? While getting a charge controller to ensure that your battery does not over-charge is a good idea, the same also holds true when it comes to preventing your battery from discharging excessively and the voltage to drop to unacceptable levels - and this is where our Low Voltage Battery Disconnect comes into the picture. Key Features: Prevents deep discharge, extends battery life Microprocessor enabled Cutoff & reconnect points are user adjustable Automatic over-heating shut-off Light for status indication Works in favor of low power consumption Automatic: Our Low Voltage Battery Disconnect unit is controlled by an inbuilt microprocessor, allowing the unit to disconnect automatically each time the voltage falls below a user controlled preset cutoff point. The automatic reconnect feature, also controlled by the microprocessor, allows the unit to reconnect supply, and this is done soon as the voltage reaches 1 volt above the preset cutoff point. The cutoff point is easy to set, all you need is a screwdriver to turn the knob that is in plain sight at the front of the unit, and the reconnect point is always 1 volt more than the cutoff point. Overheating Protection: Overloads can result in the temperature of the unit rising, and in case the temperature rises beyond a certain point, damage is quite possible. To protect against this, our Low Voltage Battery Disconnect comes with a sensor which works in detecting any such rise in temperature, and if it rises beyond permissible limits, the load is automatically disconnected, and the unit is allowed to cool. Negatively or Positively Grounded? Negatively grounded has been the normal wiring method since the 1940s in the United States and is used in most automotive applications today. In negatively grounding circuits the negative side of a DC circuit is always on and connected while the positively side of the DC circuit is switched on and off. Positively grounded was the normal automotive wiring standard before the 1940s and is still used to today in limited applications. A positively grounded LVD will work if the application is isolated from all other grounds. Installation: Placement of the unit is in between the load and the battery, and its installation follows these basic steps: I. In using the wires at the side of the unit, the black one is connected the batterys negative ( -) terminal, and the red one to the positive (+) one. II. Next is grounding the load, and this is done by using the wire from the load side. III. A wire (not included) needs to be connected in between the loads positive and the batterys positive. This addition works in bypassing the unit, and switches off/on the ground conductor, thereby creating positively grounded the system. It is highly recommended you have a 40 amp fuse installed in the wiring to protect the LVD from receiving too much current. Warranty: A ninety (90) day limited warranty accompanies your Low Voltage Battery Disconnect (LVD) unit. The time period begins only when you buy the unit, and the warranty covers all possible manufacturing problems/defects. Instances of damage being caused due to improper interfacing and/or misapplication, or the unit being incorrectly handled, modified, or repaired, however, are not covered. Feel free to contact us for more information about the Low Voltage Battery Disconnect (LVD) or any of your custom controller needs, and wed be glad to help.
