DOLCENDURO 2014:
A GOOD START FOR WEEKENDWHEELS RACING TEAM
At Dolceacqua (Imperia, Italy), March 1-2, 2014, took place the first italian enduro race of the season: Dolcenduro. At the start a lot of Italian top riders and also some formidable French guys. WeekendWheels Racing Team raced with its top rider, Francesco FREGONA. Francesco is the 2012 and 2013 Italian Champion, class M1/M2 and this was its first race after he broked his ankle last summer. For him a final ninth place and a third place in class M1, riding his new 650b Banshee Rune equipped with BOS Suspension, in an exceptional podium with second the former dowhiller Julien CAMELLINI (former DH World Cup Top 10 and several times DH French Champion) and first the SuperEnduro Pro 2013 Champion Manuel DUCCI. These results are a confidence injection for the next races. Great were Francescos sensations: "Here we are at the first Enduro race of this 2014. After 8 months from my accident finally its time to ride in mtb; new team, new teammates, new materials!!. Dolcenduro said Francesco was an almost perfect baptism. It has been an occasion to test my fit and some of the components. A fantastic race, for the weather, (finally the sun!) but also for the trails, funny and varied and also for the organization, at a national race level. The pedaled transfers wasnt particularly hard (two long climbs) maybe thanks to an already good athletic form with large climb time limit that let me pedal quietly. On the stages I could finally test my new 650b Banshee Rune and Ive to say that I fall in love from the very first meters!

RACING TEAM
On stages 1 and 3 with long pedaled sections I felt very good and I pushed hard on pedals receiving super answer from my legs and my bike. In most technical stages 2 and 4 despite so many months without mountain bike I was able to descent easily even if the glance and the confidence with my Rune are still not at 100% (Ive used it only three times, race included!) but the feeling was good and Im sure that once Ill have taken confidence with BOS shocks I will start to seriously have fun!!

Also Novatec wheels has been a surprise, light and fast and easy convertible in tubeless! (before the race start Ive changed the front tyre in less than five minutes, blowing the tyre only with the floor pump!). Now, in these days before the next race, I will try to find the right setup with the Sixpack cockpit (SAM SL stem and Millenium carbon bar), so to arrive at the first Superenduro Experience race of the season in Coggiola more prepared and competitive!! Cant wait for March, 23!! Also a good start for Michele TARDINI - second place in the Superenduro Sprint Championship 2013, class M1 - at his first race riding a 29, , the Banshee Prime, obtaining a 40 place and a 8 class M1: Its the first race so Im still carburizing but great was the feeling with my new bike. Im 192cm, so I think that 29 are my natural wheel size for this kind of races. Im curious to test myself and my Prime in other different stages!. WeekendWheels Racing Team supporters are: Enervit, Banshee Bikes, AME Grip, Sixpack Racing, BOS Suspension, Novatec Wheels, RIE Cycle Company, Downhill Suspension Center and Rewheelution. Next race the first Superenduro Experience of the season in Coggiola, Biella, Italy.
