FIND THE RIGHT SEAT Use an infant-only seat for infants up to 14 kg. Keep it rear-facing and semi-reclined. Be sure the harness comes from slots at or below the babys shoulders and is snug when buckled. Use your convertible child seat in a forward-facing and upright position for toddlers and children between 14 and 30 kg. Be sure the harness straps are coming from above the childs shoulders. For children between 30 and 45 kg use a belt-positioning-booster seat. Children over 46 kg must pass the safety-belt-fit criteria before wearing a normal car safety belt. Knees should bend naturally at the edge of the seat. The lap belt should sit low on the hips. The shoulder part of the seatbelt should rest on the shoulder or collarbone. Z71-branded gauges round out the package. Autotrac 4x4 System Tahoe has authentic off-road ability, thanks to the Autotrac active transfer case (standard on 4x4 models) that helps it adjust to varying road conditions. The Autotrac system features four drive modes (2HI, AUTO/4WD, 4HI, and 4LO) plus a neutral setting. 2HI is the most efficient driving mode. Increases in front and rear track widths help contribute to ride stability. Relocated rear cross members have been modified to improve durability. 2. Front Suspension The coil-over-shock front suspension with forged-aluminum lower control arms has less sensitivity to minor road irregularities and more tuning capability in elastomeric bushings in the suspension than a torsion bar design, providing excellent ride and handling on all road surfaces. A front axle, that features a four-point mounting system, further isolates passengers from vibrational road inputs. 3. Rack-and-pinion Steering The front frame bay and components of the steering system were reengineered to help provide precise steering feel and excellent response to driver input. 4. 1. Power Liftgate Available on LT and standard on LTZ, the power liftgate adds both functionality and convenience. When the vehicle is in Park, simply press and hold the power release button on the key fob and the liftgate slowly opens regardless of whether the vehicle is locked or not. To close the liftgate, press and hold the button again. If the vehicle is locked, the gate will also lock. In addition to the key fob, there are activation switches located in both the overhead console and at the bottom edge of the liftgate. As a safety measure, the liftgate will automatically stop if it encounters an obstacle. 2. Rack-and-pinion Steering(1/2 ton models only) The front frame bay and components of the steering system on Suburban were re-engineered to help provide precise steering feel and effort and excellent response to driver input. 3. Front Suspension On 1/2 ton models, a new coil-over-shock front suspension, with forged-aluminum lower

1. Head-curtain Side Airbags Standard on all trim levels, head-curtain side airbags help reduce the risk of injuries to all outboard occupants in certain side impacts. These airbags cover all rows and are designed to stay inflated in the unlikely event of a rollover, to help reduce the risk of ejection. 2. Ultrasonic Rear Parking Assist An available Ultrasonic Rear Parking Assist uses sensors located in the rear bumper to detect certain stationary objects up to two-and-a-half meters behind the vehicle while travelling in reverse at low speed. The system then provides audio and visual warnings as you approach. Standard on LT and LTZ models. 3. Remote Vehicle Starter System An available factory-installed remote vehicle starter system operates from up to 60m away. You can also preset the temperature controls to heat up or cool down the interior before you get in. Standard on Tahoe LT and LTZ models, standard on all Suburban trim levels. 4. Four-wheel Antilock Disc Brakes There have been numerous enhancements to the braking system in Tahoe and Suburban, including larger rotors for greater stopping ability, a two-piston front and enhanced single-piston rear brake design for reduced noise, non-asbestos organic brake linings designed to extend brake life up to 65,000km with normal use, and an active brake booster system for enhanced pedal feel and reduced noise.

5. StabiliTrakTM Electronic Stability Control System StabiliTrakTM helps improve vehicle stability, particularly during emergency maneuvers. The system also includes Proactive Roll Avoidance, which reduces a vehicles tendency to roll over in an emergency situation. Heres how StabiliTrakTM works: The StabiliTrakTM control module compares your steering input with the SUVs actual response and then, if necessary, makes small, individual brake applications to enhance control and keep you on track. StabiliTrakTM automatically intervenes when it senses loss of lateral traction (sideslip), understeer (plowing), or oversteer (fishtailing).  In these situations, the system applies brake pressure and, if necessary, adjusts engine torque to help the driver get the vehicle back on track. 6. Safety Cage Enhancements The high-strength, galvanized-steel safety cage demonstrates an excellent balance between mass, noise and vibration, crashworthiness and corrosion. In comparison to the previous generation, there have been improvements in the areas of both roof crush performance and body structure rigidity. 7. Tire Pressure Monitor A Tire Pressure Monitor is standard in every Tahoe and Suburban and monitors the tire inflation level in each of the four road tires. If any tire falls below a specified pressure, the driver is alerted via a message on the Driver Information Center.

The Vortec 5300 V8 engine is the evolution of everything weve learned about power, performance and efficiency. The engine features Active Fuel Management technology and helps Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban balance up to 320hp (net) with best-in-class fuel economy. The Vortec 5300 V8 engine also produces 452Nm (net) of torque, while the available Vortec 6000 V8 engine on Suburban 3/4 ton models creates 352hp (net) at 515Nm (net) of torque.

Dynamic fuel economy

Active Fuel Management Technology With Active Fuel Management, power is delivered when you need it. In situations where extra power is not needed, such as cruising down the highway on level roads, Active Fuel Management deactivates four of the eight cylinders with seamless precision.

Composite Intake Manifold The Composite Intake Manifold design allows the Vortec 5300 to deliver high levels of torque at low-range and mid-range engine speeds ideal for towing yet still deliver plenty of airflow for peak engine horsepower.

When load demands increase, such as when the vehicle accelerates or travels uphill, cylinders are reactivated to provide eight-cylinder operation. The bottom line is, the Vortec 5300 V8 is more efficient in providing the energy to move the vehicle when only four of the eight cylinders are operating. The powerful 32-bit engine control computer triggers cylinder deactivation based on inputs from vehicle sensors making deactivation almost undetectable. The 2012 Tahoe and Suburbans Active Fuel Management technology helps them deliver an estimated 14.7L / 100km city, 11.2L / 100km highway for 2WD models and 15.7L / 100km city, 11.2L / 100km highway for 4x4 models. In addition, exhaust-noise silencing measures and revised powertrain mounts add to the engines overall smoothness.

Middle of nowhere. Center of everything.

An available touch-screen navigation system includes a 17cm diagonal color display and voice recognition. Tri-zone automatic climate controls allow individual temperature customization for the driver, front passenger and rear-seat occupants.

Rearview Mirror/Camera The rearview camera system includes a builtin camera mounted near the license plate. When you shift into reverse, an image from the camera is displayed in a portion of the rearview mirror (so you can still see out the mirror). The mirror reverts to a normal fullframe image/reflection when you shift into Drive or Park.

DVD system This available feature has a new, larger 20cm monitor located in the headliner between the first and second row of seats for convenient second and third-row viewing. A third-row DVD screen is also available. It has two wireless headphones, a remote control unit, and the capability to play audio or video, helping deliver entertainment everywhere you travel.

Factory-installed Remote Vehicle Starter System The Vehicle Starter operates from up to 60 meters away and provides added security over aftermarket systems because it does not override the anti-theft engine immobilizer.
