FASTTRACK

Description:- The FASTTRACK will basically be an event for the beginners in which they will have to compete
with their line following robots in the given arena and beat their respective opponents in terms of speed and time limits. This basic robot has to follow the black line on the white background and have to count the black stripe on right and left side of the path.

Task:- Construct a fastest Line follower Robot, which is Autonomous in Nature simultaneously do the
specified tasks.

Arena Specification :1> 2> 3> 4> 5> 6>

In arena, there will be black stripes and black path on a white surface. The width of all black stripes and the black path will be 30 mm. There will be a gap of 70 mm (minimum) between two consecutive stripes of a set. There will be starting square pad and finishing square pad pad on the arena. The area of starting pad and finishing pad pad will be 25 cm x 25 cm. Final arena exposed at the time of competition but parameter will not change.

Bot Specifications :1. Only one autonomous bot per team is allowed which can travel in arena. 2. Once the autonomous bot starts, no team member is allowed to touch the bot. 3. The autonomous bot must fit into the box of dimension 220 mm220 mm220mm at the beginning of the run. 4. Bot must be started individually by only one switch. This switch has to be shown to the organiser before the run. 5. During the run, the autonomous bot can expand itself provided it does not damage the arena in anyway. However, it is not allowed to leave anything behind or make any marks while traversing the path. Any bot found damaging the arena will be immediately disqualified. The final decision is at the discretion of the organisers. 6. Bot must have an on-board power supply, the voltage difference at any point on an individual component must be lower than or equal to 24 V DC at any point of time during the game. 7. Total number of LEDs to be used on the bot must be 6 (3 RED LEDs and 3 GREEN LEDs). 8. Red LEDs for identifying black stripes on the right side of the bot and Green LEDs for identifying black stripes on the left side of the path. 9. The autonomous bot must not split into two or more units. 10. Bot cannot be constructed using readymade Lego kits, readymade development boards or any readymade mechanism. But, they can make use of readymade gear assemblies , readymade development boards and sensors. Violating this clause will lead to disqualification of the team. 11. The starting procedure of the bot should be simple and should not involve giving the bot any manual force or impulse in any direction.

Gameplay :Round 1 The objective of this round will be to check the basic knowledge of bots through path sensing. The bot has to start from the starting pad pad having black surface, have to detect the black path and move through the path having a black surface to reach the finishing pad pad of arena. Bot have to glow GREEN LEDs from starting pad till it reach at finishing pad and have to stop at finishing pad and glow only RED LEDs till bot will not switched OFF. Bot has to complete the path in minimum possible time. Minimum time taken team will be declared winner of First Round. Only those who qualify will be allowed to participate in 2nd round. Round 2:The bot has to start from either starting pad pad or finishing pad having black surface , has to detect the black path and move through the path to reach other pad of the arena. The bot has to count the number of black stripes crossed. There will be different number of stripes L (for left side of the bot) and R (for right side of the bot) respectively as shown in the figure 2. The bot must have 6 LEDs (3 RED and 3 GREEN). Example> if the arena contains 10 black stripes with 3 on the right side and 7 on the left side of the black path , then LEDs will glow in the order {off, on, on [ on Red LEDs for right black stripes] and on , on , on [ on Green LEDs for left black stripes. ] , LEDs should ON at finish pad of the arena only and has to stop at finishing pad. Example> if the arena contains 12 black stripes with 5 on the right side and 7 on the left side of the black path , then LEDs will glow in the order { on, off ,on (on Red LEDs for right black stripes)and on , on , on (on Green LEDs for left black stripes)} , LEDs should ON at finish pad of the arena only and has to stop at finishing pad.

Rules :1. The teams will have to submit their bot , program code and hex file of their code of both First and Second round to the organisers before the start of the competition. Only those teams which submit their bots will be allowed to participate. The bot will be handed back to the team during the time of their run. They will be given 2 minutes to do any hardware changes and calibration of the bot if they wish. If the teams are found to alter their code after depositing their bots, they will be disqualified. 2. At the start of the task, the whole bot will be placed at the starting pad. Only 1 member from the team is allowed to be near the game arena while starting the bot. 3. Timer will start when the organiser gives the signal to start.

Restarts:
A maximum of 5 restarts will be given to the team during the match. If a team asks for a restart before finish pad, the bot will be placed at the starting position of arena. If a team asks for a restart the bot will be placed at the starting of pad of arena. In a restart, the timer will not be set back to zero and will not be paused. At any time bot leave the path if it not comes back at the point or takes the short path ,it has to restart from starting pad. During a restart, a contestant must not feed information about the arena to the bot. However, contestants are allowed to adjust sensors (gain, position etc.) and make repairs. A contestant must not alter a bot in any manner that alters its weight (e.g. removal of a bulky sensor array or switching to lighter batteries to get better speed). In case of any discrepancy, the organisers shall arbitrate. The LEDs should be strictly of high intensity and visible to naked eye ( diffuse LEDs are recommended ).

General Rules
1. Only 1 member of the team is allowed to handle the bot. 2. Participants are not allowed to keep anything inside the arena other than the bot. 3. Laptops/personal computers are not allowed near the arena. Other Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. devices must be switched off. The organisers hold the right to check for these devices and their usage and disqualify the team if needed. 4. The time measured by the organisers will be final and will be used for scoring the teams. 5. Time measured by any contestant by any other means is not acceptable for scoring. 6. In case of any disputes/discrepancies, the organiser's decision will be final and binding. 7. Participants have to bring their own laptops during the competition.

Team Specification:Scoring :-

A team may consist of (a maximum of) 3 participants.
