(N Child Protection/FT/03/14) If you are qualified and looking for a chance to make a real difference in the lives of Cambodian children while gaining opportunities for career growth, you are invited to apply for the following post with The United Nations Children's Fund Child Protection Officer (NO-B) to be based in Phnom Penh The Child Protection programme focuses on strengthening systems to prevent and respond to protection-related risks and vulnerabilities of children and young people, including children with disabilities and those affected by HIV and AIDS, and addressing social norms to enhance the protective role of families and communities. Main Duties and Responsibilities Under the supervision of a Child Protection Specialist, the selected candidate will work on the violence against children component of the child protection programme Contributing to strengthening community-based mechanisms for the prevention of, and response to, violence, exploitation, abuse and neglect; Promoting the role of religious leaders on prevention of and protection of children from violence, exploitation, abuse, and neglect; Contributing to programme monitoring and evaluation with government counterparts; Providing support and guidance on appropriate technical, financial and institutional capacity building measures; Promoting knowledge management by exchange of information, situation analysis, experiences and lessons learned Minimum Qualifications and Experience University degree in Social Sciences, social work or related technical field At least two years of professional work experience at sub-national, national or international levels in child protection programme management Experience from child protection systems strengthening, and combating child abuse and violence Experience from social work, community mobilisation and participation Experience working in the UN or other international development organization is an asset Expected Competencies and Skills Respect for and adherence to UNICEFs core values of Commitment, Diversity and Inclusion, and Integrity Commitment to UNICEFs mission in Cambodia Strong interpersonal and team working skills and capacity to work in a multicultural environment Strong drive for results, setting high standards for the quality of work Proactive communication and networking skills Fluent verbal and written English and Khmer Submission of Applications: Applications including a CV, Personal History Form (P11) and two recent performance appraisals (where possible) shall be sent to cbdhrvacancies@unicef.org or UNICEF Cambodia, HR Unit, No. 11, Street 75, Sangkat Sraschark, Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
