Technology, Depart ment of Posts invited applications for recruitment to the post of Postal Assista nts/Sorting Assistants/Postal Assistants (Savings Bank Control Organization)/Pos tal Assistants (Foreign Post Organization)/Postal Assistants (Returned Letter Of fices)/Postal Assistants (Mail Motor Services) And Postal Assistants (Circle And Regional Offices) for the year 2013 - 2014 in 22 Postal Circles in the Country. The Department of Posts, trading as India Post, is a government-operated postal system in India. It is generally referred to within India as "the post office". Exam Pattern: There are following 2 types of test for this post. Aptitude Test (Paper-I) Computer/ Typing Test ( Paper II) Aptitude Test (Paper-I): This will be comprising four parts (Part A, B, C & D). The duration of the Test will be for 2 hours (120 minutes). There is no negative marking. Part A- 25 Questions on General Knowledge - Questions on current events, sports, history, geography, basic economics, general politics, Indian Constitution, Sci ence environment etc (25 marks). Part B- 25 Questions on Mathematics of matriculation standard which may cover nu mber system, simplification, decimals, corrections, simple and compound interest , percentage, average, profit and loss, discount, menstruation, Time & work and time & distance etc. (25 Marks) Part C- 25 questions on English covering grammar (prepositions, adverbs, conjunc tion, direct/indirect speech, singular & plural, tenses, antonyms/synonyms etc. (25 Marks) Part D- 25 Questions on Reasoning and analytical Ability. (25 marks) Computer/ Typing Test (Paper II): The typing test will be for a duration of 30 m inutes ( 15 minutes for typing and 15 minutes for data entry) consisting one pas sage of 450 words in English OR 375 words in Hindi to be typed with a minimum sp eed of 30 words per minute or 25 words per minute respectively. Test in Data ent ry will be of some figures and letters each carrying equal marks on computer. Th is test will be conducted on Computer Key board, but not on a typewriter.
