III. Market Analysis

A. Overall Market For Full Bloom Boutique, our target market is anyone who is seeking a trustworthy florist for an event or special occasion. With the exception of special

occasions, the majority of our clients will be of the upper class. Since our prices are slightly lower than local competition, we hope to draw in customers of several income ranges who are seeking arrangements for occasions such as weddings and funerals. The geographic location of our target market is within a few miles of our business, the nearby barangay. Full Bloom Boutique is located on Ayala Highway, Lipa City. We expect that the majority of our customers will be from: Marawoy and

SabangLipa City. The city of Lipa is a respectable place for a florist due to the amount of people in the area. The demographics of our target market will vary with each month of operation due to different holidays and seasons. The occupations of our target

customers are mostly professional positions since the majority of the market is the upper class. Since most of the customers will be of the professional workforce, the

most popular form of ordering flower arrangements is over the phone or internet. The target customers will buy flowers on a regular basis, for home decoration. Also, the target customers are more likely to send flowers to others on special occasions. Customers seeking floral assortments for funerals can be expected year-round. For events such as weddings and funerals, price formats will be discussed with the customer and will vary depending upon the quantity and style of flowers chosen. B. Marketing Strategy Since there are many competitors within the industry, our weaknesses are that we are a new company; we have limited funds, no established customers, and no set reputation. To counter our business weaknesses, we have chosen a prime location. We also plan to achieve better, more personal customer service, as well as lower prices. Full Bloom Boutique, like competitors, will also provide the standard free vase with flower purchases. To attract new customers to our delivery service, we will offer free delivery for purchase orders. Our business will offer made-to-order products, as well as custom arrangements to fit the customers needs. Full Bloom Boutique will succeed in providing fast delivery, one-on-one customer service, as well as affordable prices. We will strive to make flowers affordable for all who wish to enjoy our quality products. Compared to our competitors, we will offer similar quality products for lower prices. We will also similarly offer flower delivery. Full Bloom Boutique will have a running website that will allow customers to pre-order flowers for next day pick-up. We will cover flower arrangements for weddings and funerals, delivering purchases beforehand to the correct location.

IV. Competitive Analysis A. Competitive Factors Florists operate in a very competitive industry. An individual can easily locate a florist anywhere throughout the country whether it is online or a brick and mortar store. The florist competition in Lipa City is quite high. All of the florists in this

area have fewer than ten employees. Two of the major competitors of the business are the Flowers and Greens in MataasnaLupa, Lipa City and Sugar and Blooms in Sabang, Lipa City. They have a variety of products that include fresh flowers, green and blooming plants, and balloons. The florists competitive advantage is that they are committed to providing nothing less than the finest flowers, backed with service that is fast, friendly, and professional. Also, another competitors will be other retail flower shops, as well as garden centers, super markets, farmers markets and home centers. Other indirect competitors could be expanded to include any other kind of thoughtful gift substitutes, such as: jewelry, candy, bakery items and crafts. These items compete in the area of everyday gifts, holiday gifts, sympathy, anniversaries, and get-well items. V. Design and Development Plan A. Expansion Plan The owner expects that the business will aggressively expand during the first three years of operation. The owner intends to implement marketing campaigns that will effectively target individuals and event planners within the target market. B. Organization and Management Full Bloom Boutique is owned by Vanessa Rullan, which provides quality floral products and superior customer service. The owner makes all of the management decisions for the company. For the first year of operations, there will be four full time employees. The employees consist of the industrialists who will design and assemble the flower arrangements. The position that will be filled will require the employee to have certification in floral design and background experience in retail, preferably at a florist. Both employees will operate the cash register/computer system, greet customers, monitor the store, and make deliveries. Also, the owner will hire additional part-time employees when calendar holidays and contracts for weddings or funerals arise.

The owner will formulate an interview process for potential employees. The owner controls what floral products and supplies the company will purchase. However, the other employee has some empowerment because the owner allows the employee to order products from suppliers. This enables the owner to spend more time on orders and provide the employee with more tasks and responsibilities. The florists growth and profitability during its second and third years of operation will determine the owners decision of providing more full-time positions. If the company generates substantial sales and returns, then there is an opportunity for another floral designer. In the future, potential employees need to contain great experience in floral retail and designer certifications. Future positions will include the same current full-time position requirements and duties. It is possible by the end of the second year there will be six to seven full-time employees and additional part-time help for contracts. Full-time employees wages will generally stabilize have potential increase in latter years. C. Key Personnel and Organizations In observance with Full Bloom Boutiques operations strategy, they have assembled organization to provide expertise in key areas.

Store offers reasonable salaries to all employees, tips, rest days and special non- working day for an activity which provides interactive connection and which will essentially inspire every staffs of the shop to do their works well. VI. Operations and Management A. Labor For the first year of operation, the owners will have to devise a schedule to ensure operation is running smoothly and shared equally among everyone. The hours of our business may vary during seasons, but during normal months, Full Bloom Boutique will be open on: Monday Thursday: 10 AM 6 PM Friday and Saturday: 10 AM 8 PM Sunday: Closed

These hours of operation appeal towards the target market. The weekdays are open with enough time for students and workers to make or pick-up orders. Fridays and Saturdays are prime wedding days as well as extra time for

customers with busy schedules. Full Bloom Boutique chose to be closed on Sundays due to the small amount of business that small companies occur on the particular day, especially during the first year of operation. If the clients grow enough in the future of Full Bloom Boutique, the store will be open on Sundays. Also, orders can be made on our website at any time for next day delivery. The owner will be available at all times when the building is open. The store will be open fifty two hours a week. Thirty two hours on weekdays and twenty hours on weekends. Hours may be extended during the holidays.
