THE NATURE OF RESEARCH

What is research? Research is simply a systematic and refined technique of thinking, employing specialized tools, instruments, and procedures in order to obtain a more adequate solution of problem then would be possible under ordinary means. Study Get an e-journal article on a topic of interest to you. Read it and understand the nature of research. Give your comments: 1.
A lot of things have been done regarding the knowledge of causes and economic effects of the phenomenon of settlement diffusion [4], but few things have been done concerning its measurement [5]. The reason is that the quantity and the quality of useful information for studying the dynamics of the employment of land are not enough.

Research gathers new knowledge/data from primary sources, thereby the researcher is able to deduce that further study/research should be conducted as it seem fit. 2.

Research is expert, systematic and accurate investigation. In this research, the researcher carefully analyses data based on the data gathered and plot it on a table, showing all possible scenarios.

3.

Research is logical and objective wherein the use of such formulas help verify the data collected. 4.

The use of such maps help aid the researcher in determining the land consumption of a certain town or the study area. Here, thru the legends using different colors, the maps show the zones that are consolidated and expansion and that of the towns boundaries. In this research, it was able to analyse the 1546 towns of Lombardy, Italy and map its different land use in birds eyeview. Such as that research is patient and unhurried, this type of activity (mapping/zoning) requires a lot effort and hardwork and in order to be accurate in data, the process being undertaken should be unhurried.

5.

The measure of land consumption requires the quantification of the phenomenon of settlement
dispersion. A lot of studies in literature use different metrics regarding landscape ecology for the analysis of urban configurations [14]. Landscape ecology is a discipline of ecology and physical geography which studies the spatial distribution of landscape elements [15].

Here, such terminologies were defined signifying that the research is being carefully conducted providing the readers accurate referencing. Post Assessment Write your reflection on: The Nature of Research Research is not for the faint of heart. Although rigorous as it looks as with the many chapters and a lot of work entailed therein, it is not a simple walk in the park. Research is like working on a lattice wherein it may kind of look complicated at first, but if you would look closely into it, you would see its relevance and use. Research as I have read, is systematic, as it follows a process or steps before the researcher would arrive to a conclusion and finally find answers to his questions. I would find my own future researchers to be like what was already researched on, as it was either being used for higher research or as a reference to another research. I deduct, that research is cyclical. People will never cease to stop searching as our quest for knowledge and information is insatiable. With the aid of the research process, I would find that more studies will emanate from a simple question of what, and because man never satisfies he will go on asking how and why and will solutions to every problem that will be of good use to him.

WRITING THE INTRODUCTION Activity 2 - Use the template to identify the pacts of an Introduction Title of the study Standardized assessment of noise concepts of middle- and high-grade elementary school students Author(s) Min-Ray Lin, Ching-Chieh Lin, & Dar-Yuh Chiou What is the Problem? Noise Why is it a Problem? 1. Noise is very harmful to human health 2. It causes many physical and mental diseases. 3. Noise influences interpersonal communication by interfering with reception of all kinds of sounds and disturbs human sleep, etc. How it should be Why it should be solved? solved? 1. Thru environmental education 2. (9) secondary concepts of noise pollution control in Allmans research on environmental education conceptions 3. (4) subconcepts about noise in Chen and Gaus study on environmental education conceptions in elementary schools 4. Establishment of concept maps of noise pollution for elementary school students. What is the purpose of the study? Petition cases 1. Study from Taiwan misconceptions increased by about noise and 100% cases per complete test year recently, questions for which means noise concept that noise tables of problems elementary desperately need school students to be solved. from these misconceptions 2. Compile evaluation tables through standardized procedures to increase the quality and application of the evaluation tables 3. Interpret, explain, and compare scores as the basis for learning diagnosis, learning accomplishment evaluation, and teaching improvement.

Activity 3 What is the problem?

The concept of land consumption, a very important current environmental issue, developed in backgrounds where the urbanised area appeared extended, fragmented and widespread.

Why is it a problem?
A policy of real limitation of the sprawl through urban means has not been carried out against the principle of minimization of land consumption, included in different regional laws, and different ways of controlling it which have been used during several experiences [8] of provincial planning.

How it should be solved?

The chosen methodology whose goals are measuring and interpreting land consumption caused by the choices of municipal urban planning (the so called urban predictions) is divided into the following stages: definition of the urbanized area; Why should it be solved? selection of metrics for measuring land consumption caused by urban planning; Indexes definition and identification of thresholds for interpreting results.

Why it should be solved?

In order to analyse land consumption caused by the choices of town planning in 1546 towns in Lombardy.

What is the purpose of the study?

To identify a methodology for evaluating in an objective way the sustainability of urban transformation as regards land consumption.

Post Assessment 1. An introduction mush consist of 1 or 2 pages. - YES 2. An introduction is found in chapter 1 YES 3. An introduction describes the trends in various fields that render the chosen topic or problem YES

WRITING THE REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE AND STUDIES Activity 2 Read and Do - Identify the synoptic and arguments parts Synoptic School personnel have long talked about the need for parent involvement. In recent years the language has shifted lightly to family involvement in order to honor that many other family members -parents, grandparents, foster parents, siblings, aunts and uncles, even close friends and neighbours support and nurture children and youth and may play significant. Argument However, Epstein (2005) in her panel presentation cited that school, family and community partnership is a better term compared to parental involvement in to recognitions of the fact those parents, educators, and others in the community share responsibilities for students learning and development. With this approach, there is a wide range of responsibilities for parent involvement in school activities with the support of the community.

Family involvement: Impacts and Benefits Carlise, Stanley and Kemple defined family involvement as parents investment of resources in their childrens education. Consequently, family involvement is a powerful influence and a vital component of a successful education. It also describes the various ways through which parents and school can interact to promote learning as an important variable that positively influences childrens education. Family involvement: Availability Interactions between home and school are important for these are strongly influential in the life of a child, depending on the frequency and quality of the interactions. The change of demographics such as educational attainment, nature of work, ethnical diversity, economic demands and language barriers complicates the development of strong home-school partnership.

Family Ethnicity Due to increasing diversity, teachers and parents are likely to come from different cultural backgrounds and economic demands leading at most times to contrasting beliefs, values and child-rearing practices and limiting the time whom parents are available to come to school. However, there are parents who lack confidence and do not believe in their own effectiveness and capabilities. On one hand, parents are sometimes intimidated by school administrations the staff and the teachers and feel that they lack the knowledge and skills to help educate their children. On the other hand, Powell found that given the skills

and opportunities to be involved in the school activities of their children, many parents become very active and resourceful. Activity 3 - Get a related study. Fill up the template Review of Related Literature and Study Synoptic Arguments Ecosystem management is an In general, however, there is evolving concept agreement that a goal of which will be further defined ecosystem management is to as attempts are sustain ecosystem health, made to turn philosophy and integrity, diversity and retheory into policy and silience to disturbances. on-the-ground management Framework for a shared practices.
