We've got a brave food blogger called Sam to introduce you to, a box of mystery ingredients to introduce him to, and the jaw-dropping outcome to share. Plus, a lip smacking Sunday Supper Club for good measure.
Challenge Sam The very talented Sam Richards of SamCooksFood, has agreed to be our guest blogger for a new game of ours called 'Challenge Sam'. The idea is simple, each month we'll drop a box of ingredients (chosen by us but a mystery to him) on his doorstep, and then it's up to him to design a recipe to incorporate them all. We'll post the results for all the budding cooks out there to try, (and everyone else to simply drool over). Introducing Sam... At the age of five Sam's curiosity about food was apparent - he wrapped a Mars Bar in his mum's leftover pastry and cooked it, ta dah! At university he spent large portions of his student loan on quality produce and created generous spreads for his flatmates to tuck into. After graduation, he worked with the Food Ethics Council in Brighton where he learned about the processes behind the plate, highlighting the importance of fairness throughout the supply chain, and championing independent high street retailers. He then moved to Jamie Oliver's Recipease for a more hands on role with food; he was lucky enough to spend time in the development kitchens, and his experience here inspired him to pursue recipe development. In 2012 he launched his own blog, and having pushed himself week on week to learn different techniques and cook new things, his blog has taken on a distinctly 'cheffy' style (whilst remaining approachable) - well worth a gander! So, back to the challenge... to see how Sam got on with his first box click here. Sunday Supper Club Everyone loves a roast on Sunday, but sometimes it's nice to let someone else do the washing up! So, this Sunday we've teamed up with Bistro Union in Abbeville Road, Clapham to create a Supper Club menu featuring our ox cheeks - for the full three
