The InstaBlak 333 Short-Run Production Kit from EPI is safe and easy to use. Virtually any employee can blacken your parts without extensive
training. This saves you time and money, allowing for just-in-time production of blackened parts.

Step 1
Clean in E-Kleen 148-E
to remove cutting fluids,
coolants, oils and other soils.
Five (5) minutes.

Step 2
Rinse in cold water
to remove residual
cleaning solution.
One (1) minute.
Step 3
Activate in E-Prep 258
to prepare surface
for blackening.
One (1) to two (2) minutes.
Step 4
Rinse in cold water
to remove residual
activator solution.
One (1) minute.
Step 5
Blacken in
InstaBlak 333
solution for
Two (2) minutes.
The InstaBlak 333 Short-Run Production Kit from EPI consists of:
Two five gallon steel tank pails (one contains E-Tec 503 - see below)
Five five gallon plastic tank pails
One gallon container of E-Kleen 148E liquid concentrate
One gallon container of E-Prep 258 liquid concentrate
One gallon container of InstaBlak 333 liquid concentrate
One five gallon container of E-Tec 503 ready-to-use solution
One heater unit
One thermometer

Rinse
E-Tec 503
Step 6
Rinse in cold water
to remove residual
blackening solution.
One (1) minute.
Step 7
Seal the finish and produce
corrosion resistance by
immersing in E-Tec 503.
One (1) minute.
Step 8
All parts to air dry.
*NOTE: All alloys do not require the activation Step #3 and rinse
Step #4, reducing the process to only six (6) steps.
Process will blacken all non-stainless steel alloys.
