Week 1 Date: 14/7/2013-18/7/2013 1. Issues During my first week I had lack of teaching aids. So I went to the BBM room.

Yet the room was lack of teaching aids too. The room was not well organized and most of it not been taken care. View on the issues Teaching aids are important tool to enhance learning process. Besides it lends helping hands for teachers too. So, it should be stored and maintained well so that it will benefits both teachers and students. Analysis issues 3.1 Causes Lack of concern on this matter from school authority. The school does not prepare teachers with fund to buy teaching aids. 3.2 Strength/weakness The school is located at outskirts of the town. So it can be understood their economy level may be abit low. Suggestions School authority can organize small stalls to raise funds in order to buy teaching aids. Most importantly, they should be well maintained and everyone plays their roles . Futher action I will keep all the teaching aids( concrete, worksheets, videos,audio) in a portfolio/ kit so that can be used by other teachers in the future.

Issues This week I wanted to integrate ICT in my teaching process but there was an issue. I found that the classrooms are not equipped with the LCD projector. The worst was I have no back up plan. This made me panicked. I had to go all search for LCD from the duty teacher. This interrupted my lesson and of course lag the time. View on the issues I believe use of ICT is very essential in teaching pupils. This will help to seize pupils attention and make the attention span longer. Analysis issues 3.1 Causes Lack of concern on this matter from school authority. Many schools nowadays already have LCD fixed in classroom to make learning effective. But this situation makes things intrivate. 3.2 Strength/weakness The classroom is small and packed with ard 35-37 number of students. Hence this may be inappropriate for teachers to use LCD in classroom. Even the tables computer lab have termites. Suggestions School authority can have LCD in every classroom .Teachers can take students to the computer lab. Futher action So far I am already started to take my class to the computer lab as it is spacious , conducive and importantly it allows use of ICT.Pupils seems to enjoy the lessons too.

Issues This time I realized that I need to improve my lesson plan writing and time management. Previously in two lessons I dragged the time especially when its game time.This interrupts my flow of lesson. View on the issues Time management is very crucial and that is how the learning process moves smoothly. Writing lesson plan is essential too. My lecturer commented that my lesson plan is lack of details. Perhaps it should be very detail and clear cut instructions. Analysis issues 3.1 Causes I am too carried away during game time. I never keep up with time till I have to keep the production stage short. My lesson plan is lack of details may be because I just write it for my own understanding but now I realize my mistakes. 3.2 Strength/weakness Not looking at the time will be my drawback. The lesson plans are interesting but lack of clear instructions. Suggestions I must learn to wear a watch. Moreover I should write my lesson plan with clear instructions and handwriting so that can be easily understood by everyone. Futher action I plan to pay attention to the bell ring to indicate every 30mins. I also want to keep my record book neat and will pay more attention of writing instructions.

Issues The main concern of the week is about the writing lesson in year 3 Sina. View on the issues I taught them on writing simple sentences. My pupils did understand the content and sentences presented during presentation stage. During presentation I taught them how to write simple sentences based on a given picture. During the practice stage I noticed that they were stuck. Looks like they were unable to express their ideas in written form. Moreover, I noticed lots of grammatical error in the sentences. Analysis issues 3.1 Causes This could be due to lack of vocabulary among the pupils. It also could be lack of their experience in writing. In this modern era, everything revolves around virtual world. 3.2 Strength/weakness My lessons strength will be the presentation and set induction. I believe I deliver sufficient input on the topic like the vocabulary needed to describe a person. During the practice stage pupils need to draw a picture of a friend and write sentences about him/her. I believe this is a good way to trigger imagination which will lead to creativity in writing their ideas. Suggestions I should teach my pupils more on grammar first before proceeding to writing as I see that grammar influences their confidence in writing skill. Futher action In my next lesson Im going to present a new topic but my learning objectives will still be the same. I will go for a simpler topic yet interesting one.Perhaps topic can an issue also.

Issues The main concern of the week is about the class control during language arts activity . View on the issues I did sandwich making activity with my pupils in year 3 Ibnu Sina. The activities are very captivating and pupils were so thrilled until I was unable to manage the class. Since the beginning of the lesson I took out the chairs and made pupils to stand afraid that sitting might interrupt the sandwich making process. Yet I noticed that the pupils were so restless and tend to move around during the set induction itself. Analysis issues 3.1 Causes This was due to lack of organization in my instructions and also might be because I made the students to stand till the lesson ends. 3.2 Strength/weakness I really loved the overall idea of my lesson. Basically everything in it. The practice and production stage was my biggest strength. The activities done are very interesting and give pupil chance to apply hands-on skills. The set induction was good too. I played a cartoon video on making sandwich which was able to provide an overview of the lesson. Suggestions I should teach my pupils some language point which I did not include in the activities. The pupils did not get the chance to use the language by themselves. I should have provide a worksheet or any short reading text on recipe of making sandwiches. Futher action In my next lesson I am going to impart the language point left out . I could teach them sentence connectors perhaps.
