Eric Jenkins Jr. Professor Meredith Ferrill WRD 104:211 January 29, 2014 Creative Research Essay Rough Draft To say that Im obsessed with this lady is an understatement. I absolutely love her like she is a part of my family. She is definitely worthy of having a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, even though she has one with her former group, Destinys Child. She is referred to as Mrs. Carter or Queen B. She has been in the music industry for over a decade since the late 1990s. She is married to one of the most influential artist in the rap community and has a daughter by him named Blue Ivy. Im talking about the lovely, beautiful, multi-talented, gorgeous, the flawless Beyonc Giselle Knowles-Carter. Beyonc has been a very successful artist at an international standpoint because of her smart business decisions, her inspiring music, and her abnormal ability to perform. Beyonc was guaranteed success since the beginning of her career. She started off as the lead vocalist in the famous group Destinys Child. Her father, Matthew Knowles, was an IBM marketing executive. During the time, he was the groups manager as well. When Beyonc started to launch into her solo career in 2003, he left his job and became her full time manager until they parted ways in 2011. Her father being her manager, during this period of time, taught her the rules to the music industry, kept her safe financially, and kept her protected. When they parted ways from business, Beyonc took over as her own manager. She is still successful by being her own boss. She also is successful because she took a chance by stepping into acting roles and acting in major films like Dreamgirls and Cadillac Records. She has gathered

many sponsorship deals. The most recent and well known is Pepsi. She also has powerful friends by networking. Its safe to say the most powerful would be President Barack Obama and FLOTUS Michelle Obama. Her music keeps her alive. Her uplifting, liberating, empowering, sexy, blazing music is a huge reason why she is crowned and known as Queen B. I personally have all 5 of her albums, Dangerously in Love, BDay, I Am Sasha Fierce, 4, and Beyonc. I know every song like I know my own birthday. If there was a class strictly on Beyoncs music, Im pretty sure I will pass with a perfect score with extra credit. When her albums first come out, I study the music like my life depended on it because I want to beat out all of the other Beyhive, Beyhive is a term used for Beyonc fans, members I know by knowing her latest material. This is another reason why I was upset that she released her fifth album Beyonc without any warning because I wasnt financially fit at the time to purchase it through iTunes and that was the same day as my mothers surgery. When my mother got into recovery and had a few days rest, she finally bought the album. I was already behind other Beyhive people, but I caught back up. Her music is hot, her background vocals are crazy, her vocal ability is blaze, and she is just an absolute genius in her craft. She also lives as Queen B because of her ability to entertain. She continuously gives top performances. When she had her concert at the lovely Roseland Ballroom, her concert, titled 4 Intimate Nights with Beyonc, was sold out in 22 seconds. She is known for giving breathtaking performances, concerts, and shows. Many of you witnessed the way she commands the stage from her half-time performance at last years Super Bowl Game. Beyonc opened and closed her set belting songs, and in between she danced hard and heavy and better than most contemporary pop stars (Beyonc Super Bowl., 2013). Ive had the opportunity to witness

her glamour, creative, extra-ordinary concert. This pass June I attended her Chicago Concert apart of her Mrs. Carter Show world tour. It was absolutely amazing. As a singer, Ive been to many concerts and have been a part of concerts, but this one was the absolute best Ive seen this far. Some people compare her entertaining skills to Michael Jackson. The King of Pop was a genius at what he did and was a great entertainer to his audience. With her wide mezzo-soprano range, dancing skills, and the love for her fans, she gives an amazing show.
