To Our New Users: Thank you for purchasing Visual AviationPro. We are confident that it will be a useful tool for you to manage your aircraft maintenance operations. When you receive this CD please feel free to call us for setup instructions and a training session. To load the software please follow these steps and call us if you have ANY problems or questions. Support is offered during our normal business hours Mon.- Fri.8:30am to 5:30pm EST. 24 hour emergency support is also available, but may be subject to additional charges. Single-User Version: Make sure you are signed in as Administrator. Use the Auto-setup Installation Wizard to do a typical install on a single computer. Then proceed to step #6 below. (* Make sure you back-up the entire C:\ProgramFiles\DSSAVPRO\ folder each day!) Network Server Multi-User Version: 1. Make sure you are signed in as Administrator. Insert the CD on your network server or single-user PC and Open it up under My-Computer. 2. Copy the DSSAVPRO\ folder onto your network fileserver and take off the read-only settings under folder properties on the copied folder. Make sure all users have full access control privileges to the DSSAVPRO\ folder and sub-folders. Run the WSINTALL9\SETUP.EXE (located on the CD) on all workstations that will be running the software. TIP: copy the WSINSTAL9 folder into the DSSAVPRO\ folder on the server so you can run the workstation install from there and you dont have to worry if you lose the CD. Create a new shortcut on each workstation pointing to DSSAVPRO\ DSSAVPRO.EXE file on your file server. Put the following switches on the shortcut TARGET command line after the EXE file name: {space} t {space} cc:\foxtemp\config.fpw Also, in the shortcut properties, make sure the Working Folder points to the DSSAVPRO\ folder on your fileserver. Run the AviationPro software and sign in as user name NEW, password is NEW. You can set up users access to the program under the File-Utilities menu choice. DO NOT DELETE THE DSS user or lower its level as you may get locked out, you can change the password to whatever you like. You can also now input in your Company Name and Address information under Utilities, Company File Maintenance. To Print Bar-Code Labels: On all workstations, go to the Control Panel (Switch to Classic View), open up the Fonts folder. Click on file and Install a New Font. Browse the DSSAVPRO\DBF\ folder and select the C39 font (call for more help if needed). Be sure you test ALL barcode item numbers with the scanner on plain paper before printing labels and labeling items. Installing the Mini-Memory Barcode Scanner: The mini-memory scanner is designed to be used as a USB serial plug & play device. The first time it is plugged into a workstation it will ask you to locate the driver for it. ALWAYS search for the driver from a specific location. The driver can be found in a subfolder within the DSSAVPRO\ folder on the CD or your network server. Look for the CS1504DVR\ subfolder and then open the 2K_XP\ subfolder to get to the actual driver files.
