The Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission (SACM), in partnership with the Academy for Educational Development (AED), has established a direct residency placement service for eli ible Saudi Arabian medical candidates! This pro ram will provide stron clinical e"perience and trainin at #!S! teachin hospitals across the #nited States! REGISTRATION ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS $n order to be eli ible for the Medical %esidency &ro ram, candidates will need the followin ' ( ( ( ( ( )inancial sponsorship from the Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission! COMPETITIVE CANDIDATES The #nited States Medical %esidency system is hi hly competitive! AED e"pects candidates to revise C6s and personal statements, with assistance from AED staff, to achieve necessary 9uality and meet standard #!S! formattin protocols! /OSPITAL SUBMISSION' AED will forward applications to medical residency pro rams! The residency pro ram directors will decide which candidates to interview and, ultimately, whether or not to accept the candidate into their pro ram! INTERVIE.S' *uidelines to interview will be provided to candidates prior to attendin an interview! )urther coachin will be available from AED as necessary! ACCEPTING OFFER OF RESIDENCY' Successful candidates will receive an acceptance letter from the hospital, which must be si ned and returned to AED with a copy sent to SACM! P*$o* "o #cc!p"$n+ "0! DECLINING OFFER OF RESIDENCY' A candidate has ten days to decline an offer of residency! A decision to decline must be sent to AED within that time period via letter or email! &lease note' 7nce an offer of residency has been made, the candidate;s application will not be submitted for further pro ram opportunities throu h AED! APPLICATION CLOSE OUT- $n the event that a candidate;s application is re<ected from three or more institutions, AED reserves the ri ht to close that application! /OSPITAL CONTACT' The candidate a rees not to contact any hospital staff directly at any time unless specifically directed to do so by AED! Any violation of this policy will result in termination of the application for direct medical residency placement! GUARANTEES' Each candidate;s own 9ualifications, test results, rade transcripts, recommendation letters, and professional e"perience are loo,ed at carefully by each reviewin residency pro ram! Candidates must meet pro ram standards at each hospital! The AED pro ram wor,s to provide you with opportunities to et accepted into a pro ram, but &! (o no" +2#*#n"!! p #c!m!n"! LENGT/ OF APPOINTMENT %esidents will be eli ible for assi nment for a period of no less than one year! STIPEND SACM will provide residents with financial support, administered throu h AED, e9ual to the pay of American residents at the institution of placement and consistent with EC)M* re9uirements! =ospitals do not provide stipends for any residents accepted under this

pro ram! $n addition, hospitals are not responsible for payment of the cost of travel to and from the resident;s home country> livin e"penses (includin but not limited to housin , food, and transportation)> health insurance> boo,s> and educational supplies! VISA REQUIREMENTS Medical residency positions re9uire a -(. visa throu h EC)M*, (unless the applicant has dual citi/enship in the #!S! and Saudi Arabia, or holds a #!S! reen card!
