Dylan Williamson Humanities Matt Dooley Right of Return Policy Paper Although Iran recognizes Israel, as a sovereign nation

there must be peace between Israel and Palestine, Palestinians live in a inhumane environment therefore, must be allowed the right of return to Israel. The Israel Palestine is based on a feud for territory. It all started when the Jewish refugees left Germany and were seeking refuge from the British in Israel. The British government, who were the ruling power over Israel, let the Jewish stay in the country. Palestine however, did not want the Jewish people there and tried to make them leave but when this was taken up with the British, it was declined. Then surrounding countries attacked the Jewish and the Palestine had to leave the country for safety Some Jewish stayed however and through much violence took control of Israel, and never let the Pa The map bellow shows the progression of the

two states and the land distribution after the war.

The Palestine took the West bank and the Gaza strip, each located on separate parts of the country. The Jewish took the rest of Israel, and borders were put between the territories. However there were procedures to get some of the land back from Israel, and given to the Palestine. Resolution 181 was passed on the situation, The mandatory Power shall advise the Commission, as far in advance as possible, of its intention to terminate the mandate and to evacuate each area. The mandatory Power shall use its best endeavors to ensure that an area situated in the territory of the Jewish State, including a seaport and hinterland adequate to provide facilities for a substantial immigration, shall be evacuated at the earliest possible date and in any event not later than 1 February 1948. This resolution was passed, however did not go into action because neither side would accept the resolution. Therefore there has been no progression for equality between Israel and Palestine. In the interest of ending the Israel, Palestine civil war, Iran believes that Palestine should have the right of return to Israel. This will allow both states to live peacefully together, On its arrival in Palestine the Commission shall proceed to carry out measures

for the establishment of the frontiers of the Arab and Jewish States and the City of Jerusalem in accordance with the general lines of the recommendations of the General Assembly on the partition of Palestine. Nevertheless, the boundaries as described in Part II of this Plan are to be modified in such a way that village areas, as a rule will not be divided by state boundaries unless pressing reasons make that necessary. There will be no boundaries between towns and cities, unless there is a serious reason and the two will live together in a peaceful environment, with basic human rights in place. In conclusion Iran feels that with basic rules in place Palestine and Israel can live peacefully in there own territories without violence and borders. In order for this to work however, Israel needs to respect the Palestinians territory and not take control of their territory. The Palestine also needs to stop all violence directed towards Israel and work to resolve trust between each other. This has been a long feud with no happy ending, but in order to have one there needs to be promises and acceptance from both Israel and Palestine.
