Weather How has weather changed earths landscape?

(Good morning or afternoon) Today I am going to talk about my personal inquiry, how has weather changed earths landscape? In this unit we have been focusing on the theme of research we have also been focusing on the 3 stages of change, causation and reflection. Our unit main idea is; Reflecting on change helps us to know the natural world. In this explanation I will be focusing on weather and how it has change the earth around us. Tornadoes. A tornado is a force of weather that is a very powerful force of destruction. Tornadoes have different destruction types and it has 3 main types; a land sprout, a water sprout and a multiple vortex. As the mesocyclone or an area of organized rotation approaches the ground a visible funnel descends from the storm from the base of the storm. A tornado has 5 damage indicators; F0 is a weak tornado reaching 1.6 kilometers on the base of the ground. A F1 is also known as a weak tornado and can also deliver a beating to mobile homes. An F2 you can call it a tropical cyclone it is that strong that a normal car can become a missile. F3s can basically kill you or break a limb and your concrete house could be 75% damaged. An F4 can flip over large transportation such as an airplane, trains and large trucks. Say hello to the F5 the strongest tornado ever recorded this type of tornado can wipe out BB compound for instants (no offense) but anyway this tornado once was responsible for 1300 deaths and 14,000 injuries. Tornadoes cause loads of damage to the environment by destroying the land Hurricanes. Now Im going to talk about Hurricanes, hurricanes are also known as Tropical Cyclones. Because I have been talking about tornadoes you might be thinking are tornadoes and hurricanes the same thing? Well heres the answer its not the same thing the only thing the same is the fact that hurricanes and tornadoes are both natural disasters. The most exciting thing about a hurricane is its core the eye. The eye of the hurricane is calm, rain-free and sometimes cloud free, the eye is at the center of the hurricane surrounded by the storms strongest winds. When a hurricane has struck it can cause many problems some diseases such as Fecal with will have a problem in your intestine, you can also catch Typhoid Fever, typhoid fever is a toxic disease but I couldnt figure out what this fever causes. The last disease is Cholera, which gives you painful diarrhea. The hurricane wraps up with a big bang and a town ruined. Winds. Now I am going to talk about wind, as you might know the questions on the PowerPoint are the questions so now what are the different types of winds. Winds are similar to tornadoes but dont occur a lot of the time. Winds have similar ratings as Tornadoes, tornadoes have the F0-F5 but winds start off at EF0, which is like a normal breeze you can imagine it by. EF1, these types of winds are the winds that will turn over mobile homes. EF2 Roofs and torn off and cars are being flipped over. EF3 Mobile homes are destroyed. EF4 well-constructed homes are leveled. EF5 is basically like an F4 Tornado. High winds are meant to cause the most amount of damage causing damage up to 408 Kilometers an Hour. How is winds created? You can imagine winds being air moving more and more air comes together but because its so uncommon normal winds in Ho Chi Minh City is EF0-EF1, I have found out this information because I have been in Saigon for 6-7 years and the only high winds we had are the winds that struck in 2012 rainy season and if I am correct that came from Philippines and this type of wind was strong enough to knock-over trees but not strong enough to destroy houses. Erosion. When I was thinking about this I didnt know if this would fit into it but when I thought about it a lot I decided to add it in because weather creates erosion and thats what changes our environment. I

am going to start off with the 3 main types of Erosion; Rainfall, Rain Erosion and Rivers and Stream erosion. What causes Erosion, wind and water are the main types of how erosion is formed but there are many more such as wind and water, ice, snow, storms and natural disasters, all of these are the things that shape different mountains that we wouldnt believe such as this one (on the presentation) this was erosion in Madagascar and this you can believe must have taken a very long time. I have got my information from a variety of places National Geographic, Wikipedia, Wizkids, Ask and Ask kids. I know this information is reliable because I have used different search sites and that has helped me to understand the information better. I have used books and the books are called are Weather, how tornadoes are formed, Hurricanes and its facts and Erosion. I feel that the websites and books I have been reading and gathering information from are useful because I have used different sources and that has helped me a lot in this inquiry. I hope you have enjoyed my presentation, I hope you can inquirer into weather and thank you for listening.
