I'm indebted to my mother for inculcating a great habit like reading in me.

I sti ll remember how she used to gave books away for special occasions like birthdays and New Year's eve.Over time, her preseverence of this trend had became a passi on of mine.Five years ago, i started working and realized that the mounting pres sure of work had kept me away from reading for a long span of time.But whenever i had some pockets of idleness in between projects, i would sat on my favourite couch and treat myself to the company of a great book.Reading helps me to improv e my vocabulary and general awareness about the world.Introduced me to the diffe rent cultures around the globe,kept the motor of my brain running and imbibed a certain level of discipline in my life. Reading is one of the gratest past time ever.But it's sad to know that most of u s aren't introduced to the faboluos world of books.If you're one of the non-book readers,here are some good reasons to start the habit...before you're left out! Global warming is not a 20th century phenomenon. It has, in fact, occurred in th e past more than once, along with periods of extreme cold known as the ice ages. With so much written and reported about global warming, sometimes it's difficul t to determine which is fact and which is just part of scientific scare tactics. Here are some facts about global warming that might help us understand more abo ut this un What exactly is global warming? Global warming is basically the increase in the temperatures of the Earth's atmosphere, land masses and oceans. The Earth's surf ace temperature is at an average of 59F and over the last hundred years, this fi gure has risen to about 1F. By the year 2100, the average change in the temperat ure of the Earth could range from 2.5F to about 10F, enough to melt glaciers and polar ice caps. The cause of global warming Global warming has and will always occur naturally. Why it has become such a concern in our lifetime is due to the fact that human a ctivities and practices have contributed significantly to its occurrence and sev erity. With the advent of industrialization and careless environmental practices , we have caused the increase in the average global temperatures by contributing negatively to the greenhouse effect.
