Candidates with a technical background would be considered for BI Analysts in our Datawarehousing practice Details of Job Requirements : Business Analyst / BI Analyst Designation Reports To Business Analyst Associate Consultant Senior Consultant The Business Analyst will need to learn/understand/analyse operational processes, the impact on other aspects of the business operations, especially financials; he or she will also need to understand/analyse the impact on customers for all processes. He or she will have to understand business scenarios from documents and discussions, define requirements, and be able to validate system processing for these scenarios. The Business Analyst will participate in implementing an enterprise wide insurance software, drawing up functional requirement specifications, understanding the application to identify the gaps and workarounds, create a study of modifications, and participate in customer education and project management of specific projects. The BI Analyst will need to learn/understand/analyse multiple systems. He or she will have to design, develop, implement and maintain BI solutions. Responsibilities include building analytic reports using OLAP tools, report writers, building simple data marts, conducting User Audits and liasing with sub-contractor and other vendors for System Integration work. He or she has to work with users to define new or enhanced ETL requirements and business rules. Ability to understand complex E-R diagrams, and to write complex SQL is a must. Exposure to ETL, BI tools, DB2/SQL Server Databases would be a plus. Good understanding of OLAP cubes and underlying star schema designs would be a plus. Previous experience in developing management reports and dashboards using reporting tools/ using ETL will be a plus.

In future, growing from the above roles, the analyst should be able to lead the discussion on business requirements, and design IT solutions for these needs. This will require a combination of skills: configuring generic models to create specific models, designing logical extensions to existing solutions. Intensive training on Insurance business process, overviews of Insurance Applications in use in the industry, training on various tools and systems. Support for client visits, detailed technical presentations and troubleshooting

Supervision received

Qualifications required Good written and communication skills, Good English, IT literate, result oriented. Insurance background preferred but not essential. Technical background preferred but not essential. Should understand common business processes in an organisation or be able to quickly grasp how a software actually works in a business set up. Starting Salary Rs. 5,60,000 Gross per annum for freshers (Rs. 40,000 per month + Rs. 80,000 loyalty bonus at end of 12 months) + in addition Gratuity & Medical Insurance benefits of 10,500 per annum.
