Name: Bessy Alexandra Ramrez. Career: English major . Module 7 Management of Technological Resources for the Teaching and Administration of the English Language. Title of the activity: Teaching Perspectives. Year: 2014 Score: Link for the TPI profile sheet: http://www.teachingperspectives.com/drupal/es/tpi/tpiresults?nodeid=33693&name=Bessy Introduction: This work presents a different perspective of good teaching, it helps to understand and interpret our profile as future teachers, it is also a guide on how to perform a good job in the professional life as educators. The importance of this work is to know about the most common issues that students have at the time to learn, what to take into consideration when we teach. On the other hand it teaches us to form in our students values and incorporate them into their daily life. What is TPI? It stands for Teaching Perspective Inventory. These perspectives represent the good teaching understands and interpret your profile. It contains five perspectives: 1. Transmission 2. Apprenticeship 3. Developmental 4. Nurturing 5. Social Reform Keep in mind that these five perspectives are not mutually exclusive perspectives. In our research involving hundreds of teachers, the vast majority hold one or two dominant perspectives. Many hold an additional 'back-up' perspective that is high, although not dominant. This combination of dominant and back-up perspectives allows teachers to accommodate changes in context, content, and learners. Common sense requires that no one can operate from all five simultaneously, since they represent contrasting and sometimes competing views of teaching. The developmental perspective is the one that most accommodate to my way to teach. Why? Because when I teach, I feel the need to investigate more about the way the students think, their needs, and in that way provide a better teaching in order to fulfill my students needs. It is important to recognize those needs and we can do it through making questions, providing cases as examples to open the mind of the students and make thinking beings. Conclusion: According with the results given by the TPI questionnaire I agree with the results, because I can realized that that part of the perspectives is my fortress with no doubt. It also will be a huge improvement in the teaching area and teach not only educative topics or an specific topic but also teach them values and incorporate them in their personal life.
