SH:15/PILE WORK

Pile driving rigs including vibratory hammers are assumed to be self contained with power units and necessary accessories required for driving. The quantity of concrete which is required to be stripped off upto a minimum height of 600 mm above the designed top level of the pile has been taken into account in the rate analysis. Payment will be made upto design top level / bottom of pile cap. Rate analysis for various type of piles like driven cast-in-situ, bored cast-in-situ, driven precast RCC pile and other types of piles have been included. If the steel casing in case of driven pile is required to be retained, the same is required to be priced separately. The levelling course below the pile cap is proposed with M15 grade concrete. In case of cement concrete piles, the minimum grade of concrete shall be M35 with minimum cement content of 400 kg / cum. However the analysis has been made for other grades also for mostly used bored cast - in - situ piles as guided by the local factors. The top of the pile shall project 50 mm into the pile cap and reinforcement of pile shall be fully anchored in pile cap. The minimum thickness of pile cap should be atleast 0.6 m or 1.5 times the diameter of the pile whichever is more. Guidance for piles is to be obtained from IS : 2911. Concrete in driven cast-in-situ piles shall be cast upto a height of 600 mm above the designed top level of pile, which shall be stripped off to obtain sound concrete either before final set or after 3 days.
