CourseDescription In this course, we explore all the traditional areas of corporate finance, including working capital management, capital budgeting, cost of capital, and financial structure, in an international context. Students will learn how to use principles they have learned in the foundations courses in financial management to solve decision making problems that corporations, investors, or financial institutions face when theyexpand their operations to theinternationalenvironment.Whilerecognizingthevalueofsolidtheoreticalfoundation, students should bear in mind that the emphasis of multinational financial management (MFM)isontakingadvantageofbeingmultinational. This course is a combination of lecture and discussions of case study. We try to bring out the varied experience that all the students bring to the classroom. You will then have to answer the questions of your classmates and myself for another 20 minutes. They will expectstudentstoparticipateactivelyintheirownlearning.Learningactivitieswillinclude lectures, exercises, and problem solving sessions. Both group and individual work will be expected. Students may also be expected to participate in studentinstructor conferences, small group discussions, and in other methods of presenting and analyzing information. It has been demonstrated that active learning results in higher grades, enhance student critical thinking. I strongly believe in teaching my students to think critically about the worldaroundthem.
