Born july 29, 1983 in predappio, Italy Father was a socialist. worked as a teacher & manual laborer.

editor of the Italian Socialist Party Newspaper In 1912. Went against the socialist party and got expelled.

-Mussolinis blend of fascism was a blend of nationalism and imperialism. -he organized groups and did not individualize them. -workers (such as farmers, small business owners) were not separated by class division -Italy had slipped into an economic depression: Benito reorganized the economy, created badly needed jobs and also began military aboards.

How was the leader able to maintain power?

Was really good with speeches Showed he was powerful by: rigging elections, eliminated critics and limited the number of voters. Promised land and jobs to the people

-By the middle of 1943, Italians had enough of Mussolini. -When the Allied invasion of Sicily began in 1943, King Victor Emmanuel and the Fascist Grand Council voted to take Mussolini out of his powers -Mussolini and his mistress tried to leave but were caught and killed by Italian partisans on April 28 , 1945. -The Italian economy was lacking -Italy was weak and unable to withstand any moves regarding world domination.
