1 CONCLUSION
The enactment of Depositories Act in August 1996 paved the way for establishment of NSDL the first depository in !ndia" #sing innovative and fle$ible technology systems NSDL wor%s to support the investors and bro%ers in the capital mar%et of the country" NSDL ensures the safety and soundness of !ndian mar%et places by developing settlement solutions that increase efficiency minimi&e ris% and reduce costs" At NSDL central role is developing products and services that will continue to nurture the growing needs of the financial services industry" Depository systems are very common worldwide and have made the security transactions a lot more efficient and effective" There are various services offered by the depository system through depository participants to its clients these are account opening demateriali&ation remateriali&ation transmission and nomination settlement of trade stoc% lending and borrowing pledging'hypothecation free&ing of demat accounts" !t has also instilled confidence in the capital mar%ets worldwide" Though many people do not understand how the NDSL operates once you go through the system you will reali&e that it is very simple" (or those that are loo%ing to put a foothold on to the security mar%et it is important that even though you may not necessarily be a stoc%bro%er you have an idea how the NSDL operates" To conclude it can be said that the research findings clearly reveal the goodwill and reputation of depository system among the customers" )ut there is a need to strengthen this depository system by spreading awareness about the services offered by NSDL *SDL and its trading companies through advertisement and by e$panding the more branches of this system all over the country and also by tapping the potential customers to ma%e people fully aware of this system and all of its services" So that people can avail ma$imum benefit of this revolutionary system"

7.2 RECOMMENDATIONS
After conducting the study the following recommendations are there for the *ompany .egular statements of holdings should be made available at regular intervals" The statement of holdings should be provided with the sale and purchase of the shares" Awareness of functioning of this system should be spread to the public through advertisement" The processing of the demat account opening should be made fast" *ustomers should be made aware about the services li%e net ban%ing bill pay demateriali&ation etc" an instruction manual telling about how to use their services can also be given to the customer to ma%e these advanced services more popular" !t is %nown that stoc% e$changes are conducting classes on the awareness of the depository system of NSDL and *DSL" )ut public does not %now it" !nformation about the classes must be given in newspapers and media"
