THE HUMBLE BEGINNING Middle East, year 2008, I was sitting down on the oor with a paper and

pen and said, speak my Lord for I am listening. then I scribbled the word orchestra and said, yes Lord, I will give it to You. My city is known for its talented musicians and I can gather them for You. I thought its easy, I was turned down many times whenever I say we will do it for God. I bought basic band instruments without any player till one day the Lord brought me teenagers who know nothing about instruments. Several times I ran to God for help when they play for they were out of tune, just not right at all. I got the privilege to watch the Potter's Hand guiding, molding and sifting the team. He gave each one a heart for Him and a new song. When everyone learned to depend on Him and acknowledged that apart from Him we are nothing He then led us to start the orchestra. In a very real sense not one is qualied, God chooses the most unqualied to do His work, to bear His glory. GOD CALLS THE UNQUALIFIED. The River of Life Symphony Orchestra (ROLSO) was founded late 2012. it is composed of very ordinary, committed, inspiring young people ranging from second grader to university students. Everyone in the team witnessed God's divine provision through people who got inspired by their zeal and passion on what they do. Every instrument is an answered prayer. WHEN GOD CALLS HE PROVIDES. Parents of these young people became very supportive for they have seen great changes in their children's behavior and attitude. We conduct bible studies and teach to love, obey and worship God, honor their parents and submit to authority placed above them. Most of these children excel in their studies too and are showing great leadership potentials. Their skills in playing musical instruments enabled some to get college education scholarship in one of the universities in Cebu City. Together, they deepen their understanding of what it means to engage music to purposeful manner. God has awakened and released the treasure within the full potential and the purpose of every individual. WE ARE CERTAIN THAT GOD, WHO BEGAN THE GOOD WORK WITHIN US, WILL CONTINUE HIS WORK UNTIL IT IS FINALLY FINISHED ON THE DAY WHEN CHRIST JESUS RETURNS. (Philippians 1:6). - just call me han MISSION Build the Youth for the future through God's Word and Symphony of Praise. Elizabeth Acedilla, Violinist Airline Management

My mother and I came to the city to look for someone willing to sponsor me as a working student. I was just 16 years old and hopeless. My mother left me in the care of a church pastor. In just a week listening to the Word of God, the very rst thing I gained is HOPE. I was really hopeless at that time believing that I wont be able to study college and no good future but then realized that with Christ there is always hope. All the more I was amazed when I was also given the opportunity to learn to play violin. During my high school days I dreamed of playing the violin after seeing it in the movie but because my parents could not afford it and no violins available in my place that dream lasted for a short time only. God is good, He made that dream come true for me. Its Him who enables me to play the violin. He made possible what is impossible to me.

May Ann Gonzaga, Violinist Bachelor of Science in Education

I am 18 years old and the eldest of six siblings. My father died 3 years ago and it was very hard for us to cope up with all our basic needs how much more with my education but I was determined to pursue my studies. At rst it was very hard to balance with helping my mother earn a living. I believe that God is with me and I asked His guidance in all that I do but this was not enough because I still felt empty inside. One day a classmate invited me to their church and had a personal encounter with Jesus Christ. I was totally transformed and found the peace that I haven't had before. He supplies me everything I need. I was granted a DepEd scholarship and had not even imagined that He will also provide me with a violin. I treasure every moment I play the violin.

Mariell Ann M. Guiao, Flutist Bachelor of Science in Architecture

I am 19 years old. My father is a public utility driver and my mother is a government employee and being a scholar of this foundation is a great help for me and my family. I have two other siblings and both of them are also scholars. I was a shy-type of person and doesn't want to face a lot of people. I've already loved music when I was still a child and love to sing but doesn't want anyone to hear me sing but I learned to give everything unto The Lord including my skills and talents. He took away the shyness in me and enables me to face the crowd fearlessly and has brought out what is inside of me to glorify His name. I also played the ute in the orchestra. Being one of the scholars of the foundation has not just helped me academically but also made my spiritual life perfect in the Lord.

Joe Marie Christian M. Guiao, Drummer & Saxophonist Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education
I am 21 years of age. before, I was a mediocre nobody living a mediocre life in a mediocre world. But when I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior, it changed how I see everything. In Him I found contentment, joy and purpose. Jesus Christ opened doors for me, and awakened the potential I have

in music in which I am very grateful. God gave me the drums and I was contented with what I have, but God wasn't. He has something even greater in stored for me, the saxophone. I never thought I would see an actual saxophone up-close, but to actually play it in front of the congregation just lls me with so much awe and made me love Him even more. This gift made it possible for me to continue my studies as a scholar.

Chile N. Del Prado, Cellist Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering
At that time when I was troubled that I cannot continue my studies, I never thought that when i was asked to learn and play the Cello it would be a channel to acquire a scholarship in one of the universities. thank God! He didn't forsake me nor abandon me. He has given me people like the River of Life Christian Ministry to be an instrument for my studies. God has planned everything. yes, He has His ways. I'm so blessed to be part of the orchestra. We are trained to be an equipped individual thru God's word and to excel in everything that we do for God's glory.

Jeaneva Marie M. Guiao, Violinist Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education

I am 17 years old. As the youngest of three siblings, I was expecting to stop schooling after my secondary education for a couple of years for the reason that my parents' income can't afford to send us three to college. My parents income is just enough for our everyday food and needs. But He wants us to seek Him and trust in His great plans. There was this unexpected instrument that came into my life. I thought it just came because God heard the desire of my heart to have one, but amazingly it came with a purpose, to send me to college. I never thought that through this violin, God will show and demonstrate His great and unfathomable plans He has in stored for me. This opportunity had made me pursue my studies.

Jeanloren Roble, Violinist First Year High School

When I was still young as ve years old I had it already in my heart that I would someday play violin, until I reached the age of 10 years old that I got a scholarship in one of the music schools. Unfortunately, my mother was told by my instructor that I am not t for the violin for my hands are heavy and I am chubby and could not perform well. My dream was shattered. One day, we were invited to watch youths playing in the orchestra, but what caught my attention was the Word of God. It urged me to pray and seek God. I asked God that I would be one of the orchestra and every melody from my violin is all for Him. God is good, He heard and answered me. Now I am one of the violinists and my big hands are not anymore a hindrance.
