Zones will be split into two pools of five and play in a total of seven matches over the four days. Matches will be 44 minutes long (22 minute halves) with a two minute half time interval. The structure of the 2014 JSCs allows Zones to stay together for the entirety of Day One and Two. This allows teams/siblings/zones to stay and watch each other. All boys competitions will be at the SNHC and all girls competitions will be at FHC Day Four: Classification and Finals Matches. 3 v 4 and 1 v 2 Finals will be played at the SNHC whilst classification matches will be played at FHC. Talent Identification Program After reviewing our High Performance programs, talent identification and state team selection processes in 2013 Hockey Victoria are committed to an ongoing athlete identification process and improved high performance programs including specialised sessions. To achieve this success we need to continue to improve our coaching and programs at Zone Level. Feedback for sub elite players is critical as we build the base of talented players feeding through to the state teams we send to National events. In 2014 HV will be appointing Athlete Identification Officers (AIO's) to each of the Zones in Victoria. These appointed AIO's will work on the following within their Zone in 2014; - Conduct athlete observations at the pre-season carnivals. - Conduct athlete observations at the first three rounds of junior competition. - Conduct athlete observations at the regional zone development selection days. - Conduct athlete observations at the Junior Country Championships (JCC). - Oversee the selection of the Zone teams in 2014 in specific age groups. During 2014, Metropolitan Zone Teams for the Junior State Championships (JSC) will be selected on Sunday 18 May, 2014. JSC Nomination & Trial information Squads will be selected for all Regional Zones, and the final teams will be selected after the Junior Country Championships (JCC) held on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 May. and will lead the selection with assistance from Zone appointed selectors (one from each Association). These squads will train through to the Junior Country Championships on the 24th and 25th May.
