An "umbrella" insurance policy is essential for anyone with significant net worth. It pays for settlements and legal fees that exceed the personal liability limits of homeowners and automobile insurance policies. Because umbrella insurance usually requires specific liability limits on the policies upon which it is piggybacking, it may be necessary to boost coverage. According to the Insurance Information Institute, the typical homeowner will find that he or she can get a $1 million umbrella policy for $250 to $400 per year. As a general rule of thumb, it is often recommended that those interested in getting an umbrella policy seek coverage equal to one to two times their exposed (meaning vulnerable in their estate) net worth. Should you have an umbrella policy? We will help make it easy for you to comfortably select the best policy that best satisfies your insurance needs. We work very closely with our clients to provide the best coverage available for every dollar spent. It makes good sense to take advantage of the expert advice our team of experienced insurance professionals can provide at 269 Main Street, Zumbrota. It is our goal to ensure that all customers maintain a firm sense of security, for themselves, families and their properties. Call 507-732-5693 today and let our experience work for you.

The superintendent thanked her for representing Pine Island. E. TECHNOLOGY UPDATE: Taylor Bauman reported to the board about recent developments such as the Help Desk, technology committee meeting, and snow days. We have had inquiries about technology use during snow days. We had about 90% participation of students when we implemented it. The computer carts are being used every day. District technology labs were discussed. They are used a lot. IPad carts are working well and being utilized daily. We are 99% complete with our wireless. MDE issued a statement concerning using tablets during testing. They will not support use of tablets of any kind for at least 2 years. We will need to come up with a plan to use other devices. A blended environment was discussed by the technology committee. Our student information system was discussed as to whether PowerSchool and the lunch program are what we need. The committee looked at Moodle to see if that is the best program for our school. CWD published an article about Pine Island School technology. Taylor and Kevin are working on a tablet audit for the end of the year. The technology department starting summer planning. Theyre continuing to spread the word about our 1:1 journey. There will be a team presenting to Tierney Bros. tomorrow. COLLABORATIVE WORK ENVIRONMENT A. NEGOTIATIONS AND AGREEMENTS: There will be a meeting next week. We had an OSHA review last week and are following up on it. We are expecting a visit from the State Fire Marshall soon. The supt. will be attending the MASA conference. F. SNOW DAY PLAN REVIEW: All teaching staff has the opportunity to record time served to make up for up to four missed days. Time recorded must be approved by the building administrator. Day 5 was made up as a staff development day on Presidents Day. Now that we have 7 snow days, it is recommended that the PreK-8 principal be given the discretion to define the makeup expectations for teachers serving grades PreK-8 for days 6 and 7. Our high school students worked online those 2 snow days. Motion by Warneke, seconded by Fall to approve the plan as presented. Motion carried 6-0. HIGH SCHOOL UPDATE: Mr. Cardille has heard a lot of good things about the online learning during the snow days. Power outages were an issue. The student advisory group wants to collect books, clothing, etc. after the city-wide rummage sale to give to the needy. The registration process is continuing. This year they had a student registration information morning about the electives with Ms. Taffe, the counselor. Registration was done online. It could be done at home with parents this year on their electronic devices. Some subjects had a power point presentation describing their department. There were a lot of positive comments from the students about that. The ALP program for Pine Island has been discontinued by the State. We used to be able to run summer school and get funding through the State. Everything has to go through the ALC now. Transportation is a concern during the summer. The State does not compensate us for that. STUDENT REP UPDATE: In the student reps absence, Mr. Cardille presented to the board. Some social media has caused some problems lately. Mr. Cardille said the students like the recognition of their accomplishments, especially the non-athletic events. Mrs. Taffe was recognized for all her help with registration. There was some confusion with the Project Lead the Way class registration. Another class was added in the last few days. Other districts are offering more than one PLW class per year. We thought the classes were not supposed to be
