TheCityCounciliscurrentlyconsideringamendmentstoitsRules,topromoteamorefair,effective,andtransparent Council. TheCouncilhelditsfirstpublichearingontheissueonFebruary24th,withtestimonyfromgoodgovernmentgroups,not forprofitorganizations,andinterestedNewYorkers.YoucanreviewtheCommitteeReport,testimony,andtranscript,or watchthevideoofthehearing. Atthistime,SpeakerMarkViveritowouldlikeyourinputonpotentialchanges.Pleasecompletethefollowingsurveyby Friday,March28th.Youranswerswillberecordedanonymously. Afterthesurveysarecompiled,andconsideredalongwithpublictestimonyandadditionalresearch,theSpeakerwill bringasetofproposalstotheDemocraticandRepublicanCaucusesfordiscussion.Afterthatdiscussion,aproposalwill beputforwardforanadditionalpublichearingintheRulesCommittee,andeventuallybroughttothefloor.
