THE IMPORTANCE OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE IN BUSINESS AND TRADE

INTRODUCTION
English has emerged as the global language of trade and commerce in the past few decades. The English language has become the standard for all important official communications in a large number of countries with a wide variety of native languages. In the modern world, thanks to the Internet, English becomes the most used language in the computers.

English began to develop overseas colonies as early as the 12th century in Ireland, and soon expanded to the New World in the Americasm creating English-speaking colonies in the future United States and Canada. English was the unifying language in many of these areas (despite there are another ones coexisting). Soon English became the language of shipping, travel and commerce.

If you receive an email from the manager of an international company, it will be probably be written in English. Having bilingual work teams means saving money because you dont have to employ translators or interpreters.
