HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH PRAYER DIARY SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE TIMES 8:00, 9:00 & 11:00A.M.

MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER Chronological Bible Reading: Judges 16-18; Luke 4:1-22 Monday, March 31 Matt. 24:39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Lord, My Redeemer: Their doom is universal! Rich or poor, learned or illiterate, admired or abhorred, religious or atheist, old or young, no one escapes. They all sink into common ruin if they reject the gospel all the way until they die, or if they reject Christ all the way until the rapture. So I intercede today for __________. 2 Pet. 2:5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; No doubt, some of them ridiculed Noah. Others threatened him for his certainty. Lord, make me a preacher of righteousness to my generation! The critic who judged Noah was drowned in the same sea as the apathetic person who ignored him. Those who patronized him and spoke highly about him having the courage of his convictions (but did not share them), they also sank in the waters. The workers he paid, they helped build the very ark that could have rescued them. Oh, __________ really helps me; do not allow him/her to fall to that fate. Outside of Christ, there is no exception to the flood. Final destruction is certain for every person, and no social status, material possessions, or virtue of character will save a single soul who has not believed in you, Jesus. My God, what are people doing? Matt. 24:38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, Yes they are. It seems that foolishness dupes many of my friends. Help me break them out! Everybody neglects their soul until grace gives them a reason. Give them a reason even today, because Jesus was born to die for them. Amen. A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING Chronological Bible Reading: Ruth 3-4; Luke 6:1-25 Thursday, April 3 2 Kings 19:19 I beseech thee, save thou us out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the Lord God, TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS CROSS Chronological Bible Reading: Judges 19-21; Luke 4:23-44 Tuesday, April 1 Luke 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. Christ My Lord and Ever-Living Illustration: The example of your life is simply a living Bible principle, and it is as binding on me as your other written commands. HELP ME IMITATE JESUS by forgiving all transgressions against myself. Take the very remembrance of the offense far away, out of my mind, because no one has ever injured me as much as men injured you. HELP ME IMITATE JESUS by pleading for myself. I am a transgressor. You make intercession for transgressors. Since you pray for me, then if I pray for myself I will be heard through you. If you have said, Father, forgive them, it is wisdom for me to ask, Father, forgive me. Let my prayers hang like the golden bells on the skirts of the high priest. Carry them within the veil, and make them ring before the throne of grace! Since my prayers are so feeble, I yoke them to the omnipotence of Christs intercession. I ask for your merit alone to be my words wings, to fly my prayer on high. HELP ME IMITATE JESUS in interceding for transgressors. I will unite my voice with his. Never let the desire to pray grow weak within me. Likewise, never let me rest from seeking conversions among the lost in my daily contacts. Let me stand where Abraham stood and plead for Sodom! Many of them are sinning against their own souls, but do not know it yet. I especially intercede for them. Send them the grace of the gospel through my lips. HELP ME IMITATE JESUS, proving the sincerity of my petition in my action. Prayer without effort is playing. I set myself to seek others Lord, so I can intercede with an honest heart. I want to do what you are doing, because union in ministry will create communion of heart. Make it so today, Lord Jesus. Amen. FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY Chronological Bible Reading: 1Samuel 1-3; Luke 6:26-49 Friday, April 4 Num. 21:33 And they turned and went up by the way of Bashan: and Og the king of Bashan went out against them, he, and all his people, O Lord Our God: We beg you to look with favor on the faint-hearted, and those who are swooning due to their suffering. Look on the one who thinks they cannot take it even one more daywith their spouse, with their job, with their condition. Look on that person who thinks they cannot make it. Bring us up again from Bashan. Take away our mourning and give us music. Remove our sackcloth and give us beauty. Take away our sighs and fill our mouths with song. May our spirits rejoice in the Bridegroom, and in our coming consummation with him, in spite of our circumstances in this life. At this time also, great Father, visit our church and grant us favor. As you have abounded to us these two years in blessings, give us now a fresh vision and visitation of your Spirit, and a fresh infusion of grace. Drought must not endure forever. Bring on your Spring rains and may our vitality return. Give us a great revival in all our members, but especially in the minds of those who are growing cold in their hearts, or indifferent to spiritual things. Wherever there is any laziness and laxity, any insincere or unserious holding of precious truth, wherever the world is creeping in with its corroding and corrupting influences, wherever there is any sin our eye misses but your eye detects, please Sir! put it away from us. Far away. Fill our whole church with unity, love, life and power. We thank you for the many who are coming in among us fresh from the fields of the world! May they be like fresh blood to keep our vitality alive and growing. Do this dear Lord, for the sake of your Son who died to procure just such blessings. Amen. WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING Chronological Bible Reading: Ruth 1-2; Luke 5 Wednesday, April 2 John 7:38-39 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive:) Jesus, Lord and Master: Make me everything the Spirit of God designs and desires me to become. Make it high tide in my life, and move me out of the mud! Give me an overflowing flood of grace. Do so in the church, and begin early. Lord, fill me! Then Lord, send me out, carrying a flooding fountain of living water within. Currently, corruption exists even in the breast of those who are born again. At present my heart is always partially impure. Lord, you know there are still lusts and evil imaginations within me. But oh, my soul rejoices to know a day is coming when you will finish the work you have begun, and I can trust you until that day. I can depend on you to periodically bring a fresh flood. Clean me out with revival! Make me perfect in Christ and be perfecting me in the Spirit, all through Jesus own blood. Make me more fit for the Father this Spring. Luke 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? My Bible pictures the Holy Spirit as wind, but also as life-giving breath. Breath is nothing but wind blowing, and yet it is able to be contained in one spotavailable, not chased. I pray for this quickening breath today! I feel like my sins have too great a pull over me. O Spirit of God, release me from this gravity! Destroy sin within and work purity without. I seek this right now in prayer. Make my darkness flee. I wait on you as my only power of purity. Give me your breath in revival. Let it be caught in me. I want to breathe your Spirit by being filled with your Spirit. Give me your life, in honor of Jesus death. Amen. SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS Chronological Bible Reading: 1Samuel 4-6; Luke 7:1-25 Saturday, April 5 Psa. 90:1 Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. Almighty Father and Redeemer: You, the self-existent God, are like my earthly home. You shelter, comfort, protect, preserve, and cherish me. Foxes have holes and birds have nests, but I have Jesus, and lay my head on his breast! I never have to change my address. Kings castles have vanished over time, and many an ancient capital has been buried under mountains of dust. But I have never lost my royal home. I still live where my spiritual forefathers lived generations ago. Psa. 90:4 For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. That means even one moment in eternity is longer than all of past human history. There is barely enough time in a thousand years for the angels to change shifts. So Lord, hear me in this request: Psa. 90:12 So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. I become humble as I look toward old age. My attention-deficit cools in the presence of my mortality. I want to concentrate on gaining real wisdom in this life. I dont have enough time to justify wasting it! I am not certain I have enough time to justify playing with it. Some people have a hard time deciding what they want, or what to do. I have decided! I will seize every moment to serve you. Night is coming, but I need not fear. I can rejoice in the present blessing of God and leave the future in your hands. I can do nothing without you Lord; therefore I know I dont work in vain. I cry to you for help in my work. I will invest my life in doing what you want, because that will last forever. Amen.

THERE were ninety and nine that safely lay in the shelter of the fold.
But one was out on the hills away, far off from the gates of gold. Away on the mountains wild and bare. Away from the tender Shepherds care. Lord, Thou hast here Thy ninety and nine; are they not enough for Thee? But the Shepherd made answer: This of Mine has wandered away from Me; And although the road be rough and steep, I go to the desert to find My sheep. But none of the ransomed ever knew how deep were the waters crossed; Nor how dark was the night the Lord passed through ere He found His sheep that was lost. Out in the desert He heard its cry, sick and helpless and ready to die. Lord, whence are those blood drops all the way that mark out the mountains track? They were shed for one who had gone astray ere the Shepherd could bring him back. Lord, whence are Thy hands so rent and torn? They are pierced tonight by many a thorn. And all through the mountains, thunder riven and up from the rocky steep, There arose a glad cry to the gate of Heaven, Rejoice! I have found My sheep! And the angels echoed around the throne, Rejoice, for the Lord brings back His own! Elizabeth C. Clephane, 1868

PRAYER DIARY

1)

TIMEWORSHIP Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

" INTERCEDE WITH GOD " INSTRUCT SAINTS " PROMPT PETITIONS " KICKSTART DEVOTION

GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily devotions. 2) TITHEWORK 1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our resources. 3) TEAMWORD Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the same things over and over. This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you through the Bible chronologically in a year. Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying. Alan

! Keeping Christ at the center (your core relationship of worship to God) ! Keeping the body of Christ a priority (your congregational relationship of walking with us) ! Basing beliefs and actions on the mind of Christ (your church relationship in the Word)

QUALITY CHRISTIANITY INVOLVES THREE THINGS

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had prayed. Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition. God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son. Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
