Set Induction: a. Show picture cards of parts of a fox one picture at a time. (Appendix 1) b. Pupils guess the animal. c. Pupils talk about the animal with guidance. Step 1: a. Introduce the phoneme /f/ by showing an action. Action of bird flying and say f b. Demonstrate how to sound it out: When you say /f/, your teeth touch your bottom lip. You make the /f/ sound by pushing air d. Introduce the graphemes f and ff. Explain that though written differently, the sound Pupils do the action and articulate the phoneme /f/. Pupils say /f/ is for f and ff.

Contextual Learning
Consolidation: a. Play Musical Paper Plates. b. Explain and demonstrate how the game is played: Prepare four paper plates one each for f, ff, h and b. Write the
graphemes on the plates. Give the paper plates [face down, pupils do not see the graphemes] to four random pupils in the class. Instruct them as to which direction to pass the plates. Play music as pupils pass the plates. When the music stops, the 4 pupils holding the plates will stand up. Looking at the plate they are holding, they have to say a word that contains that sound. Repeat actions 1 5.
