16 Ways Educators Can Use Pinterest

What is Pinterest? You know when youre browsing online and see something you love and dont want to forget? What do you do -- email it to yourself? Print it out and put it in a binder? Bookmark it on your computer? Now theres a simple way to compile all of the great things you find online. Pinterest is a website that allows you to pin things online, just as you would pin

them on a real life bulletin board, but instead, Pinterest saves all of your pins on your account so that you can access them easily. Plus, you can follow friends on Pinterest and repin things that they have already pinned on your Pinterest boards or browse a live feed of items that are being pinned by strangers when youre searching for inspiration. The following link will provide you with helpful resources for using Pinterest as an eductor: http://www.educatorstechnology.com/search/label/pinterest%20tools

AskDr.Tech:
Dear Dr. Tech, When I log into my hub, Im afraid my students will see my password. Is there another way to do this?

Dear Looking, We have a solution that you might appreciate: You can remote control your Digital Hub from your desktop, and you don't need any special software to do it. In Internet Explorer, go to: http://edis-##-dh:58 00 (where ## is the room number) The first four letters after http:// will be different for each school, but it follows a pattern: Use the first four letters of the building name for elementaries, or AUE - Adams MUE- Marshall SMS - Stevenson FMS - Franklin WMHS - Wayne JGHS - Glen The password is: Email Jillian for the password. Since it's just a web-address, you

can add it as a Favorite for easy access in the future. - Dr. Tech
