One function of ths glass plate i to absorb Infrared Radiation. \Without this glass piate tho level of Inrared Raclation produced by the plasma display could damage your eyes. 1. Safety regulations require that during a repair: = the s9t should be connected tothe mains via an isolating transformer (in this particular caso a transformer of > 800 VA); ‘= safety components, indicated by the symbol AA, should be replaced by components identical to the original ones; 2. Salety regulations require that after a repair the set must be returned in its cxginal condition. In particular attention should be paid tothe folowing points = Note: The wire trees should be routed correctly and {fixed with the mounted cable clamps = Theinsulation ofthe mains lead should be checked for external damage. = The electrical DC resistance botween the mains plug ‘and the secondary side should be checked (only for ‘ots that have a mains isolated power supply). This ‘check can be done as folows: + unplug the main cord and connect wire between 1 two pins of the mains plug: ‘+ sat the mains switch to the on position (keep the ‘mains cord unplugged!) ‘+ measure the resistance value between the pins of the mains plug and the metal shielding ofthe tuner forthe aonal connection onthe set. The reading should be between 4.6 MQ and 12 M22; ‘+ silichoffthe TV and remove the wire between the {wo pins of the mains plug = The cabinet should be checked for defect to avoid touching of any inner pars by the customer Warnings 1. ESD ACs and many other semiconductors are susceptibie to electrostatic discharges (ESD 4). Careless handling during repair can reduce ite crasticaly. When repainng, make sure that you are connected with the same potential as the mass of the set by a wristband with resistance. Keep components and tools also at this same potential 1. Never ceplace modules or other components while the unit is switched on. 3. When making Settings, use plastic rather than metal tools. ‘This wil prevent any shor cuits and the danger of circuit becoming unstable. Notes 1. Alase pate ie positioned betore the plasma display. Tis ‘lass plate can be cleaned witha slightly humid cloth. if ‘due to circumstances there is some dit between the glass plate andthe plasma display panelits recommended todo ‘some maintenance by a qualified service employee only 2.
