Part I: Annotated Chess Games

A serious plan of improvement should include the study of analyzed games. What games you study and how they are analyzed make a big difference. In 144 annotated games, 12 games per month for one year, we teach Practical Strategy from opening to endgame . You will learn in a most enjoyable way. We give only the necessary variations, but we offer extensive explanations from a strategic viewpoint.

"Again I am enjoying the course, the lectures in particular are excellent. Working through the games is more like hard work but has heaps of valuable advice and teaching." E.W., USA

Monthly chess games plan

Our course is divided in 12 months of study, or into 12 modules. Every month you receive 12 annotated games. Month 1: players rated 1600 against players rated 1800 Months 2 and 3: players rated 1800 against players rated 2000 Months 4 and 5: players rated 2000 against players rated 2200 Months 6 and 7: players rated 2200 against players rated 2400 Month 8: players rated 2400 against players rated 2600 Month 9: how top grandmasters (>2750) win against 2600-level grandmasters Month 10-12: the evolution of elite grandmasters from the beginning of their career up to the top: 1. Sergei Karjakin , 2. Magnus Carlsen , and 3. Levon Aronian . You will learn how these top-players improved their chess to what they are today. Chess is played and understood differently at every level. Progressing through the levels lets you learn gradually and progress from simple strategies to very subtle plans and ideas. Because the level of the players is also different, you can learn from the differences in how they approach a position, how they succeed (or fail) to apply their knowledge, the common mistakes of every level, and how a weaker player should confront the stronger player. The game annotations will give you lots of practical advice so that you experience the game and the post-game analysis. You will effectively gain PLAYING EXPERIENCE.

"I started your Grandmaster course in 2008 and first of all I want to thank you and make my congratulations because it helped me very much to improve my play. For this reason I decided to start this new course and absolutely found it very, very interesting. The games are very well chosen and the plans and ideas of play are extremely well explained. Good job, thank you again." Stefano C., Italy
