MajorRelatedProgram/DirectTransferAgreement(90credits) PROGRAMDESCRIPTION:Basedonastatewidetransferagreement,thispathwayisapplicabletostudentsplanningtopreparefor upperdivisionBachelorofScienceinNursingandenterasajunioratmostbaccalaureateinstitutionsintheStateofWashington.The coursesoutlinedareconsideredcourseequivalentstothesimilarlyrequiredlowerdivisioncoursesofferedatthereceiving baccalaureateinstitution. PROGRAMOUTCOMES:Generaleducationintroducesstudentstothecontentandmethodologyofthemajorareasofknowledge communication,thehumanitiesandfinearts,thenaturalsciences,mathematicsandthesocialsciencesandhelpsthemdevelop theintellectualskillsthatwillmakethemmoreeffectivelifelonglearners.TheCollegesgeneraleducationprogramisintendedto meetthetransferrequirementsofthefouryearcollegesanduniversitiesasoutlinedintheIntercollegiateRelationsCommission Handbook.SouthPugetSoundCommunityCollegepreparesrecipientsoftheAssociateinArtsDegreeto: Communicateeffectively. DEGREEREQUIREMENTS:Basedonplacementtesting,studentsenrollinginthisprogrammayneedtocompletebasicskillsand/or precollegeEnglishandmath.Thecollegestronglyencouragesstudentstoenrollinbasicskillsandprecollegecoursesatthe beginningoftheireducation.Often,precollegecoursesareprerequisitesforcollegelevelcoursesthatarenecessaryfor graduation. InplanningthisdegreestudentsneedtoworkcloselywiththeiradvisororacounselorasalthoughtheAssociateinPreNursing DegreetransferstofouryearcollegesanduniversitiesinWashingtonState,itmaynotmeetalluniversityrequirements. ToearnanAssociateinPreNursingDegreeallcoursestakenmustbeatcollegelevel(numbered100orabove).Aminimumof85of the90creditsrequiredforthedegreemustbefromtheGeneralEducationRequirementsfortheAssociateinArts&ScienceDirect TransferAgreement.CopiesofthelistareavailableinBuilding22oronlineatwww.spscc.edu.Amaximumof5creditswillbe allowedforcoursesnumbered100orabovethatarenotontheGElist.Acumulativegradepointaverageof2.0oraboveinall collegelevelcoursesrequired.
