    1.StartMeteonorm. 2.ClicktheContinuebutton(topright).TheSitetabappears. 3.NextclickonStationastheTypeofSiteundertheChoosesitegroup,thenselectthecontinentinthePartoftheWorldsection. 4.IntheSearchsitebox,enterthefirstoneortwocharactersofthedesiredlocationnamewitha*andclickontheSearchSitebutton.(For example,searchingforLondon,enterlo*.) 5.Selectthesitename(ifavailable)fromthelist,clicktheContinuebutton,andgotostep6.Ifthesitedoesn'thaveaStationavailable,goto stepA. 6.AfterclickingontheContinuebutton,theDatatabappears.ClicktheDefaultvaluesbutton(ormakechanges)andthenclicktheContinue button. 7.TheFormattabappears.SelectEnergyPlus(inthemiddlesection,BuildingSimulation),andclickontheContinuebutton.Meteonormwill thengiveanywarningsaboutthedatainapopup.Writedownthewarnings(inan.infofile)andnotethatyouusedStation,Station(GH interpolated),CityorUserdefinedlocation,andtheversionofMeteonormused. 8.TheCalculationstabappears.ClicktheSavebutton(nearthebottom),andgivethenewweatherfileanamewhenprompted(shouldend withEPW).(UsetheISO3lettercountryabbreviationfollowedbythecityandtheformat.ForKathmandu,Nepal,thiswouldbe: (NPL_Kathmandu_MN6.epw) 9.Twooptionsforcreatingthefinal.EPW: Createa.DEFwiththestationname,countryabbreviation,latitude,longitude,elevation,timezone,andcommentsindicatingthe Meteonormsource.LookuptheWMOcodeintheASHRAElistofstationsortheWMOflatfile. Editthe.EPWinatexteditor,changingthestationnamefield,state/provincefield,countryabbreviationasneeded.Lookupthe WMOcodeintheASHRAElistofstationsortheWMOflatfile.

    10.RuntheEnergyPlusWeatherProcessortogetaStatisticsreport.Reviewthereporttoensureallthedataisavailableandisreasonable. 11.Createandposta.ZIPfilecontainingtheweatherfileontheEnergyPlus_SupportYahooGroupunderFiles/Meteonorm_Weather_files.The .ZIPshouldincludethe.EPW,.DDY,.STAT,.AUDITandthewarningstextfileyoucreated(giveita.INFOextension). Yournewfileisready. IfnoStationsareavailableforyourlocation,trythis: A.OntheSitetab,clicktheStations(GHinterpolated)buttonandselectthecontinentagain. B.IntheSearchsitebox,againenterthefirstoneortwocharactersofthedesiredlocationandclickontheSearchsitebutton. C.Selectthesite(ifavailable)fromthelistandclicktheContinuebutton.Ifthereisn'tasiteavailable,gotostepZ.Ifthereisasite,gobackto step6. Lastresort!Trythis: NOTE:QualityofdatadeclinesexponentiallyifnoStationdataisavailable.Thesedataareofteninterpolatedfromlocationsmanykilometers away(upto1000km!).StepsZXshouldonlybeusedifwhennootherdataareavailable.
