Chloe Mezek Block 1 Innovation History DOES repeat itself

Innovation, is key
Innovation has become an eventful part of our heritage, and the 21st century. However if you think about it, innovation has always made a big impact on humanity over the years. I mean obviously history has been repeated in between all of that time. And as far as teaching and technology go, we've definitely repeated some things throughout history there. Oh and let's not forget how people have been innovating as well. As quoted here in the book survivor by Chuck Palahniuk, this is just one explanation of how and why he thinks history repeats itself; There are only patterns, patterns on top of patterns, patterns that affect other patterns; Patterns hidden by patterns; Patterns within patterns. If you watch close, history does nothing but repeat itself. What we call chaos is just patterns we haven't recognized. What we call random is just patterns we can't decipher. What we can't understand we call nonsense. What we can't read we call gibberish. There is no free will. There are no variables.

Do you remember when the first land line was created? I bet you don't. That was quite a long time ago; 144 years ago to be exact by a man named Alexander Graham Bell. Okay, well here's an easier question; do you remember when the first IPhone was invented? Well if you guessed around 7 years ago, or 2007 then you're correct! With over 200 Patents the legendary iPhone was born. You see this is a perfect example of how history repeated itself. It was a landline, the single way that allowed one to talk to a distant other; and then becoming a mobile touchscreen that you were able to make phone calls on wherever you were. You see this is just one way innovation has made a pivotal impact on the way history has repeated itself. Innovation has reinvented, invented and improved upon the past.

Even the Ecosystem of this era is evolving like it once has before. We (as in people) have been finding new ways to preserve energy! With adding solar panels onto houses, calculators, businesses, speed pedometers, etc. We are using natural resources, such as the sun. This is just a recurrence of when we decided to stop using aerosol cans because of the tears and holes it is leaving in the O-zone layer; which if gets big enough will kill us.

The more we invent things the more jobs there are created for people. An example of this is, is Ford rolls out their new line of hybrids for 2014. Let's say when Ford was building their 2014 model of a ford fusion and they decided that they wanted to start making hybrid ford fusion, well then they would have to create a whole new factory to make the hybrid engines. This would create more jobs; because you would need more people to facilitate the machines.

We are teaching people new things all the time and showing them how to do things. Such as, when Mrs. Keene is deployed to different parts of the world to teach and co-teach with others who work in the education industry from all over. Here they teach each other different methods of teaching from their perspective and how they could evolve their methods towards education. This is them innovating and reinventing how they teach students.

Not everyone agrees that history repeats itself as far as innovation goes. Some may declare, It's just reinventing, or, Innovation doesn't really have to do with history repeating itself," and maybe even, You dont really see a lot of innovation in todays society." So if innovation is just reinventing, then why is the definition (according to www.merriamwebster.com/dictionary/innovate) "To make changes in something established, especially by introducing new methods, ideas, or products?" And if innovation doesn't really have anything to do with history repeating itself, the why are we digging up research from the past in order to improve someones future? For example, if someone were to be accused of murdering a person in the early 80s when they didnt have the machines to find DNA results and was charged as guilty; when really they werent guilty and are still alive today, they are now digging up those old cases to be reevaluated and offered the DNA testing. A person who disagrees with me you don't really see a lot of innovation in todays society, but you actually see innovation very often when building something, interacting with others and even when dealing with transportation. From making a car that uses gas to a car that uses electricity, from talking on the phone to texting someone, and from printing things in 2D to printing things in 3D. If history does repeat itself in innovation, things will start to become easier for others. I feel that technology will become more apart of not only my life but everyone's life.

Innovation has been a big part of the 21st century. Innovation has always made a big impact on humanity over the years. So when someone tells you, all you are doing is copying that idea from somewhere. You can say, Im just being innovative, because history always has to repeat itself every once in a while just to jog our memories of how good we have life.
