A person should select a diet which helps to improve health and should prevent the development of diseases. According to Charaka samhita sutra sthana chapter no 27 verse no 331-3 1, the diet of a particular person should !e calculated according to the following principles and a !alanced diet is advised, Chara parikshanam: Chara parikshanam means the place where the person has !orne, the importance of this test is to determine his food ha!its, nature of food, and the food articles availa!le in his place of stay with the food he generally takes and his favorites and dislikes. "t helps in devising a diet plan in accordance with a!ove details. Shareera avayava: #se of non vegetarian food, this particularly deals with the non vegetarian foods like the use of liver of lam! for !lood disorders, similarly the use of intestine of the lam! for kidney disorders etc. $his is in particularly for non vegetarian people. Swabhava pariksha: $his particular test deals with the nature of the food which needs to !e taken and which should !e taken in moderation and which should !e avoided. %or e&, green gram can !e used daily as it is very light and lam! meat or pork meat is heavy which should !e consumed in moderation as it is difficult to digest and if consumed in e&cess cause diseases !ecause of indigestion. Dhatuanusara pariksha: %ood is devised according to the effects needed in the !ody like for the development of !lood, her!s like vidharigandha, pippali, musta, amalaki, which have effects on !lood formation and components. %or effects on mind, vegeta!les are used especially cauliflower, ca!!age, spinach. Kriya anusara: $he nature of work he does, like if he is doing heavy manual work then he is given heavy food as he can digest them easily and he needs good nutrition. %or a person who does light work like software engineers, then a food which is easily digesti!le and nutritious to him. Ling anusara: $he food is also devised on the gender !asis only like male lam! meat preparation and female lam! preparation and foods for male and foods for female as !oth have different constitution and have different diets which are healthier to them. Samskara pariksha: 'amskara means the process !y which a food is prepared like cooking rice with vegeta!les to prepare khichdi (a rice preparation which is used consumed directly). $his is important as it deals with food recipes which are very palata!le, very nutritious as it has a no of vegeta!les. "f meat which is heavy on digestion if made into fine paste and then cooked with spices and used, !ecomes light which highlights the importance of samskara. Matra anusara pariksha: *atra means the amount of food a person should intake for his health !enefits and to !ecome disease free. %or e&, heavy food if taken in limited +uantity would serve the a!ove purpose, and light food should !e taken in little e&cess so that it can !e nutritious and has positive health !enefits.

$he a!ove ta!le can !e taken as the standard diet management guide, like for adding foods, !everages, teas etc according to the !odily humor (vi,, vata, pitta, kapha) of the client (which is made clear at the time of his arrival !y me or !efore he arrives with some +uestions on his food ha!its). ;e will take a note of the dishes prepared using the a!ove food articles and then advise according to ayurveda guidelines, we will also supplement them tea and special !everages to them so that can also fetch us some good amount of money. ;e will have different diets for particular clients like o!esity diet (included with panchakarma for o!esity treatment), special se&ually potentiating diet (some modification has to !e made and some special meat and floor preparations to !e added), "1' diet (special diet for "1' with special ref to !uttermilk foods and drinks). $he !elow ta!le gives the option of the food articles which can !e divided into @ meal timings with two !asic timings (waking up and at !ed time) which help in proper digestion and add additional value the diet we recommend. $he diet we advise will depend upon the food ha!its of the client like e&plained a!ove, and we will incorporate the !elow food articles with his food in a much synchroni,ed manner so that it should !e very palata!le and should !e within limits of ayurveda diet guidelines.
