The worlds consumption of oil and gas continues to grow, placing increasing pressure on the earth's natural resources and forcing the exploration for fossil fuels into increasingly deeper, unknown and sensitive marine environments. The oceans and seas constitute the major part of the surface of our planet. Using environmentally responsible lubricants can help minimise the environmental impact of oil and gas exploration and production activities, and help conserve marine biological diversity.

The GreenField range is designed to provide the offshore industry with a range of products that offer a signicant and scientically demonstrable improvement in environmental performance when compared with conventional products. The range is targeted for use in applications considered to present a risk to the marine environment though leaks and spills. These products specically target applications where there is a risk of spillage, with no compromise on reliability and easy to retrot.

ENVIRONMENtAL LEADERSHIP
We focus on the continued development of leading lubricants with scientically proven environmental performance, supported by Castrols expert guidance on legislation, handling, storage, usage and disposal.

tECHNOLOgY INNOVAtION
Castrol is dedicated to the development of ever-more advanced, high performing lubricants and tests them above and beyond industry standards to ensure we support your needs in increasingly challenging operating conditions.

CASTROL GREENFIELD RESPONSIBLE PERFORMANCE

Castrol GreenField has been developed as a range of easy to retrot alternative products to conventional oils in order to minimise the environmental impact of lubricants in the case of accidental spillage into the open sea. All products have been extensively tested for marine biodegradation, toxicity and biodegradation and provide signicantly improved environmental characteristics in comparison with conventional equivalent products. Castrol GreenField products also allow improved load carrying capability and corrosion prevention in order to protect the equipment used offshore. Equipment reliability and performance is not compromised by environmental benets.

CAStROL BIOBAR
HYDRAULIC FLUIDS n S uperior oxidative and thermal stability extends product life, therefore minimising product consumption and waste n G ood resistance to judder under high load / slow speed operating conditions on deck equipment n Compatible with all common seal materials (KBR, Viton, Nitrile) allowing simple replacement of mineral oil in hydraulic systems n Good ltrability. Assured hydraulic pump wear protection: exceeds the requirements of the EatonVickers 35VQ25 pump test n Reduced environmental impact when compared to conventional lubricants - demonstrable benets in the following key environmental performance criteria: - Superior biodegradation - S ignicantly reduced bioaccumulation* and toxicity - Enhanced renewability
* U sing OSPAR criteria for assessing bioaccumulation potential

CAStROL BIOTAC OG
OPEN gEAR LUBRICANt n F ormulated to minimise environmental impact in service, particularly in comparison with conventional open gear lubricants n O SPAR compliant with no substitutable components n U K OCNS group D n A ll components are either Green (PLONOR) or Yellow in Norway, a signicant improvement in comparison with conventional open gear lubricants n E xceeds US EPA toxicity requirements** and passes US EPA static sheen test n H igh load carrying performance to minimise wear on pinion teeth and guides n H ighly resistant to water wash-off to give excellent corrosion protection and to maintain lubricant presence between rig moves

CAStROL BIOTRANS
gEAR OILS n E xcellent oxidative and thermal stability results in extended oil life, therefore minimising product consumption and waste n C ompatible with commonly used seals and paints allowing simple replacement of conventional lubricants n E xcellent load carrying performance load stage 12 is passed in the FZG Gear Test n E xcellent protection for gear teeth, even under high load and high speed conditions Castrol BioTrans passes the FZG Micro-pitting test with high micropitting resistance n R educed environmental impact when compared to conventional lubricants - demonstrable benets in the following key environmental performance criteria: - Superior biodegradation - Signicantly reduced bioaccumulation* and toxicity - Enhanced renewability
* Using OSPAR criteria for assessing bioaccumulation potential

CAStROL BIOStAt

tHRUStER/StERN tUBE LUBRICANt n Good oxidation and corrosion protection n High shear stability n Excellent load carrying performance load stage 12 is passed in the FZG Gear Test n Excellent protection for gear teeth, even under high load and high speed conditions passes the FZG Micro-pitting test n Reduced environmental impact when compared to conventional lubricants - demonstrable benets in the following key environmental performance criteria: - Superior biodegradation - S ignicantly reduced bioaccumulation* and toxicity - Enhanced renewability
* U sing OSPAR criteria for assessing bioaccumulation potential
