During the past decade, patient safety and high- uality patient care have increasingly !ecome the focus for healthcare organi"ations across the country. Safety is an area of great concern for consumers and health care providers. #echnology is a strategy to enhance patient safety. $%&D can help reduce three potential pro!lem that can occur in our surgical unit such as misidentification, foreign retain and inventory misplacement.
