Vision Our group agrees to the UEP College of Nursings Vision to be a dynamic Center of Excellence for nursing education.

. Our group would like to add to the Vision the integration of information technology in the theory and practice of nursing for the attainment of the highest standards of client care. By staying true to this commitment, the college will contribute to the advancement of the profession worldwide. Mission Our group coincides with UEP-CNs Mission the implementation of a relevant and responsive nursing education that caters to the integral development of the whole person. Our group would like to suggest that it would be better if it also focuses on the improvement of health and thus the quality of life by developing a corps of highly qualified nurses with the knowledge, skills and dedication to serve the local community and the world at large. We would also like to suggest that the Mission would give and initiate encouragement to other students to produce holistic, quality, and globally competitive nurses. Goals Our group would like to suggest that the Goals of the College of Nursing would give emphasis also to the spiritual aspect of nursing practice and also to serve as a good example and inspiration to the students. We would like to add to the nursing goals the importance of being adaptive to the technological changes in nursing practices worldwide and the mastery of new developed practices related in nursing. The Goals should also be flexible to changes in new trends in nursing. Objectives Our group would like to suggest that the Objectives of the College of Nursing would be better to also anchor the following:

1. To integrate knowledge of the multiple mechanisms underlying human health and disease at the molecular, cellular, systems biology and behavioral level. a. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the mechanisms underlying human biology. b. Examine the influences of various factors on health state and physiological functioning including, but not limited to, the environment, health behaviors, culture, socioeconomic status, access to health care, health literacy, disability, genetics. c. Integrate new course material across fields into personal scientific knowledge. 2. To develop critical thinking through the process of scientific inquiry and its translation into human health and wellness. a. Design experiments to address a specific hypothesis. b. Represent and analyze qualitative and quantitative data in statistically meaningful forms. c. Critique primary scientific literature and data for quality of evidence and relevance to theory and practice. 3. To develop effective communication skills and ethical and complex decision making. a. Communicate orally and in writing to demonstrate ability to convey scientific information and ideas clearly and persuasively. b. Produce a comprehensive project/manuscript to demonstrate scientific inquiry. c. Apply ethical principles to issues presented in coursework. d. Adapt the same human science information to be communicated effectively to different audiences. 4. To engage in experiential learning to facilitate application of human science. a. Integrate scientific principles through laboratory and community experiences. b. Apply scientific inquiry through an internship experience. c. Link basic science knowledge to specific topics of health and disease that are presented during experiential learning. Philosophy Our group would like to suggest that the Philosophy of the College of Nursing would be better to anchor on the belief that its major role is to empower the capabilities of its individual members and the society as a whole, for them to realize their aspiration and to serve as an inspiration to the youth of the Philippines. We believe that this can be achieved through relevant education, research and continuing education and community

services.

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing curriculum focuses on critical thinking and analysis, communication, and diversity. The baccalaureate degree enables a nurse to assume a leadership role and practice from an evidence base. Nursing Education Our group agrees to the nursing education of the UEP. But our group would like to suggest that the nursing education should also include the emphasis of nursing discipline with a positive impact to the nursing students to enhance their learning development and to serve as an inspiration and a good role model to others regarding to nursing practice.
