Event Ad
Description: For this project I had to create an event ad. I chose to do a skydiving fund-raiser where you could pay for skydiving instructions and some of the money went towards a charity Date: 2/1/2014 Course/Instructor: Comm 130, Visual Media, Brother Judkins Programs/Tools: For this project I used Microsoft word and many of the tools related with that. Objectives: The objective was to create an event ad for a charity event. I needed to comprehend image size, color schemes, and full bleed images. Process: I used Microsoft word. I used the The box tool in there and the typing tool of course. I also used a shadow tool to make the words reflect on the paper.

Photo design
Description: For this project I had to go out and get my own photo and use that. Date: 2/7/2014 Course/Instructor: Comm 130, Visual Media, Brother Judkins Programs/Tools: I used a Cannon camera and Photoshop to do this project. Objectives: We needed to understand the importance of taking photos and also had to understand the basics of editing in Photoshop. Process: I took my picture and put it into Photoshop to edit. I used many tools in Photoshop such as the softener tool and others to enhance the photo that I used.

Montage
Description: I had to create masks in Photoshop and make some of the picture transparent. Date: 2/13/2014 Course/Instructor: Comm 130, Visual Media, Brother Judkins Programs/Tools: I used Photoshop and the masking tool. Objectives: To become more familiar with Photoshop and learn about the masking tool and how to use it. Process: I had to find the picture online and then uploaded them to Photoshop where I used the masking tool to make the other picture more transparent.

Logos
Description: For this project I created my own logos to advertise for a business which makes balloon bouquets for many different occasions. Date: 2/21/2014 Course/Instructor: Comm 130, Visual Media, Brother Judkins Programs/Tools: To make the logos I used Adobe Illustrator and the tools that are offered through that. Objectives: Create a variety of logos using only the tools in Illustrator and without using any pictures and then get feedback on the logos. Process: To create my logos I mostly used the pen tool to create all of the lines both straight and curved. I had a lot of fun with this one because it gave me a lot of creative freedom. I used the typing tool to make all of the lettering.

Business Card
Description: For this project I had to create a business card for a business of my choosing. I chose to do a fictional company called Billy Browns home insurance and made the business card that you see. Date: 3/1/2014 Course/Instructor: Comm 130, Visual Media, Brother Judkins Programs/Tools: For this I used illustrator. I used the pen tool, square tool, and start tool. Objectives: Design a business card and stationery for a business and apply contact information and correct typography rules. Process: For this business card I used the star tool to create the roof of the house and the square tool to make the house, door, and windows. I used the pen tool to create the smoke and the lines in the windows.

Stationery
Description: For this project I had to create a stationery page and I chose, instead of a watermark, to put my logo in the top corner of the page with the information. Date: 3/1/2014 Course/Instructor: Comm 130, Visual Media, Brother Judkins Programs/Tools: Like my business card, I used Illustrator for this project. I used the square, star, and pen tool. Objectives: Design a business card and stationery for a business and apply contact information and correct typography rules. Process: For this I took the logo that I used on the business card and put it into the top left corner. I then put the contact information next to it.

Flier
Description: For this project I had to take information and pictures given to me and make an event flier. Date: 1/25/2014 Course/Instructor: Comm 130, Visual Media, Brother Judkins Programs/Tools: For this I used InDesign and the square tool as well as the typing tool. Objectives: Apply basic InDesign principles and typography principles as well as retrieve images to use in flier. Process: I started by making the squares and the rectangles to create a basic outline of my flier. Then I inserted the picture and logo and lastly I put in the words and information into the flier.

Webpage
Description: For this project I had to create a webpage using basic HTML and CSS coding. Date: 3.15.2014 Course/Instructor: Comm 130, Visual Media, Brother Judkins Programs/Tools: For this I used TextWrangler and Google Chrome to check my HTML. Objectives: Use basic HTML and CSS to create and design a webpage and include a logo made by yourself. Process: This one was probably my favorite because I really enjoyed learning about HTML and CSS. I used TextWrangler and basic HTML coding to create a web page and then also used TextWrangler to create the CSS coding to give the webpage its design.

Brochure
Description: Forthis project I had to create a brochure for a company of my choosing. I chose to do it on balloon Bouquets. Date: 3/27/2014 Course/Instructor: Comm 130, Visual Media, Brother Judkins Programs/Tools: For this I used InDesign and the rulers came in handy. Objectives: To create a brochure using basic InDesign skills and learn the importance of margins and lining and learn how to text wrap. Process: This project was challenging because I had to create the lines to make sure everything lines up and then I inserted the pictures I found and the logo. After that I put in my bodycopy and created some text wrap.
