You start your life on earth without knowing the ur ose of earthly life! you gradually "e#o$e aware of yoursel%es and then you first ha%e to "e infor$ed of the $eaning and ur ose of your e&isten#e. Yet this instru#tion "y and large only #on#erns your hysi#al welfare! and it #an often take a long ti$e "efore you "e#o$e aware of a s iritual life .... "efore you #onsider your soul and its re'uire$ents. (f! howe%er! you are #orre#tly instru#ted early enough! that is! if your attention is drawn to your s iritual de%elo $ent! then your soul will "e a"le to re are itself a##ordingly and assert its wishes! i.e. you #an li%e a s iritual life ne&t to the urely hysi#al life and gain s iritual "enefits for the soul .... )owe%er! a erson who only ays attention to his earthly life! who only $eets the "ody*s re'uire$ents and ignores his soul! will gain little s iritual su##ess. Only when he "e#o$es aware of the fa#t that there is a different ur ose and goal than $erely the hysi#al welfare of the "ody #an the "eginning of a s iritual life "e s oken of. +rior to that earthly life is ,ust a standstill! li%ed in %ain for the soul! for the hu$an "eing*s s iritual de%elo $ent. But e%ery erson has the o ortunity to re#ei%e the infor$ation a"out the $eaning and ur ose of e&isten#e! it is ,ust that he doesn*t always "elie%e these e& lanations! in whi#h #ase the soul will "e #onsidera"ly disad%antaged .... -nd then it #an often take a long ti$e until the erson "egins to understand the worthlessness of earthly a$"itions and stri%es towards a different! s iritual goal.

.e%ertheless! it has to "e left u to hi$ in whi#h dire#tion he shall turn his thoughts and his will! yet he will always re#ei%e instru#tions and then it will de end on hi$ whether these instru#tions will hel hi$ gain understanding! and whether he will deri%e a "enefit fro$ the infor$ation #on%eyed to hi$. )e has to a##e t this infor$ation of his own free will! he si$ ly has to want to fulfil the right ur ose of his life .... /hen he will also of his own a##ord turn to the +ower Whi#h )e re#ognises a"o%e hi$self with an a eal for assistan#e! then he will "e hel ed in #o$ing to the #ertain realisation and su"se'uently li%e his life on earth #ons#iously. For the hu$an "eing was gi%en intelligen#e! he #an think and $entally #onsider the ros and #ons and thus $ake a de#ision! it solely de ends on his de#ision as to whether he will only li%e an earthly life or stri%e s iritually as well .... -nd although it also de ends on his will as to whether he thinks #orre#tly he will ne%ertheless always "e offered the o tion to arri%e at the #orre#t #on#lusion! he will not "e left without hel ! for it is always possible for hi$ to find and tra%el the right ath! so that his life need not "e a standstill "ut #an result in #o$ lete s iritual de%elo $ent. )owe%er! in the final analysis his will is always the #ru#ial fa#tor! for it is free and its dire#tion #annot "e deter$ined "y any $eans. Yet e%erything will "e done on art of God in order to dire#t this will su#h that it will turn towards God of its own a##ord! and then e%ery su ort will "e gi%en so that the hu$an "eing will rea#h the right goal ....
