APMG-International ISO/IEC 27001 Certication

ISO/IEC 27001 is an international standard that provides the basis for effective management of condential and sensitive information and the application of information security controls.
It allows organizations to demonstrate excellence and prove best practice in Information Security Management, helping to achieve conformance to an information security management system (ISMS) which requires continual improvement in control of condential and sensitive information. Released in 2005, ISO/IEC 27001 has rapidly become the most widely recognized international standard specifically aimed at ISM. The adoption of an information security management system is a strategic decision allowing the coordination of all operational security controls across an organizations electronic and physical information resources. The standard provides a model for establishing, implementing, operating, reviewing, maintaining and improving an information security management system (ISMS), with the design and implementation influenced by the organizations needs, objectives, information assets, security requirements, processes and other key organizational characteristics.

Examination & Training


Certication will demonstrate understanding of this best practice standard and ability to apply it in practice. The Foundation level exam assesses knowledge of the contents and high level requirements of the standard. It is a multiple-choice examination consisting of 50 questions to be completed in 40 minutes. Candidates must achieve 25 correct answers (50%) to pass. Approved training is available via an international network of APMG-International Accredited Training Organizations (ATOs).
