For us, we got a sense of how intimidated the FBI was by Malcolm X and his role in the Afro- Black community especially since it was at the time of the cold war so they suspected him of communism. This was found on a database from Facts on File. Wallance, Mike. CBS Morning Interview. 8 June 1964. This interview gave us a personal look on how Malcolm X looked at Malcolm Xs views on the movement before he became a human rights activist. This source helped provided direct quotes from Malcolm X pertaining the teachings of the NOI.

This book provides valuable information from a revolutionary named George Breitman who documents Malcolms ideas and experts from speeches. It shows the amount of work Malcolm X did to energize and organize the civil rights movement both inside the United States and abroad internationally in his last years. Breitman was an editor of Malcolm X Speaks. We found this book on a website citation which supports Breitmans credibility. Carew, Jan R., and Malcolm X. The author of this book, Jan Carew, got the opportunity to converse with Malcolm X a couple months as well as a couple of days prior to his assassination. This proves that it is a credible source because the author meet Malcolm X himself. Through this book, we got better insight on Marcus Garvey inspiration on his father and himself.

It was a great secondary source for someone like us who over the years havent learned much on the issue. It gave us factual evidence from the constitution and acts passed to accommodate black rights, which played a role in Malcolm X's leadership.

Haley, Alex The Autobiography of Malcolm X, The Random House of Publishing Group 1964.Print. This book gives us direct information from Malcolm x himself which is helpful because through our reading we began to get a sense of his character. The focus of the biography being how he became who he was. He was a child that fought with his siblings witnessed the aftermath of his fathers death, was scolded by his mother for his skin tone, a gang banger who later rises to becomes a leader. This illustrates the power of your surrounding affecting your beliefs and goals, and that's what we feel happened to Malcolm x, without each turning point in his life he wouldn't have made such an impact. This book supported a quote asserting that Malcolm Xs exact feelings toward firebombing of his house. We found this book through another source bibliography that accounts its credibility. Nelle, Susan. A Question of Race. Bethesda, MD: Discovery Communications, 2001. The film A Question of Race reflects on how biologically race is non-existent and is an illusion created during the times of slavery to justify it. This is a reliable source because within the film there was an interview with Daryl Davis a friend of the Ku Klux Klan whos quest is to educate them on the black man and understand that they are not the enemy. Straub, Deborah Gillan. African American Voices. Detroit, MI: U X L, 1996. Print. Through this book, written in 1996, provided us a valuable timeline from 1905-1968. It gave us context and the legacy of Malcolm Xs time era which was from 1925-1965. We trust this book because it was a book based on African American leaders which Malcolm X clearly was not just an African American Leader but a world revolutionary as well.
