The Butterfly is a beautiful insect. It has an ugly backstory, as it's just a cocoon before it become a beautiful insect. As a cocoon, its world just in its shell. It doesnt know what happens in the outside world. It doesnt know what it will become later on. Until it becomes the butterfly, it then embarks the world and its beautiful inspired others at the same time it learns a new thing in the new world. This morphology has been used in this story. The Butterfly circus has a great impact on me. Its a very nice short story. The formal learning that I gain from this short story is our ability might become an inspiration to the others. According to Cornell Montgomery (1843-1904) there are four stages of imitations that close relationship, imitations of the adult, understanding the concept and imitative behavior (Noriati A. Rashid.. [etl.], 2011). In the video, there is the part where the black kid said that if he strong enough, he can be anything that he wants. This is one of the examples that children will imitate from the adult and society. This happened after he watches the circus previously. This also related to the Banduras Theory which stated that learning through observation is the fundamental of human attitude development. Another thing that I observe from the story is an age cannot be the reason that inhibit individual to do something that impossible. This is being proved by the old man that performed the acrobatic performance. The other things that I learn from this story is, everyone has their own expertise. I also realize that someone who with bad backstory doesnt mean that they dont have a better future life. Disability also not a reason to inhibit the activity or aim that we want to do. Inspiration from the social also leads to a successful pathway in life. It will give an intrinsic motivation to the individual. According to Social Learning Theory,

learning happens when there is interaction between intrinsic motivation and individual behavior with the environment. By watching this story I realize that social is part of the learning process. Social has an impact to lead someone to success in their life by imitating the good modelling. There is a part in the story where the boy asking if the main character is part of the circus performance. The question by the boy make him thinking either he is contributing to the circus. The closed relationship between the members in the butterfly circus also play roles in changing the attitude and thinking style of the main character. The ability of the performers in the butterfly circus guide and give him a lot of inspiration especially Mr Mendez. The questions and challenges that have been made by Mr Mendez make the main character thinks and reflects himself. By then he realized that someone who has a bad backstory doesnt mean that they dont have a better future life. By then he tries to find his own way to be part of the performer in the circus. Again, the inspiration and challenges that are given by the others performers are related to the Bandura Theory. As stated in Bandura Theory, observation is fundamental of human attitude development. At the same time, according to Druckman and Bjork (1994) Individual who has a high self-confidence can do any activities or reach the aim successfully (Noriati A. Rashid..[etl.], 2011) . This consequence with the performance by the old man. He can do the performance because he has a high self-confident. There are a few moments that lead the main character to his potentially highest level. The first part is where Mr Mendez said that the main character is magnificent. Then the moment is where the boy asks him either he will be part of

the performer in that circus. Next, the black boy who asks him about what can he do. The question by Mr Mendez also leads him to reflect himself. At some point, most of the performers in the group seem to ignore him. Then he tries to cross the stream by himself. Even though at the beginning he found difficult but he tries to push himself until he makes it halfway but suddenly he fell into the river. By then he realizes that he can swim. This then motivates him to do his most difficult performance. From the story there is a few support that individual need to solve the problem. First of all the individual must be given the opportunity to him to solve the problem. If there is no opportunity, there is no way for the individual to success in his life. Second things are the reinforcement and motivation. There are three types of reinforcement: Direct reinforcement, vicarious reinforcement and Self reinforcement. Direct reinforcement can be a reward or praise for the successful task or job. While vicarious reinforcement is happening indirect with the person. For example, in the story the main character really excited to watch the performance from the Butterfly Circuss performer. His excited feeling is the vicarious reinforcement that makes him want to be a performer in that circus. Selfreinforcement is intrinsic motivation that leads the person to do things especially when he satisfy with what he has done. Next support is hinted. Some individual need hints to be successful especially for those who are too desperate and thought that theirs disability as inhibit. At the same time this individual need the question that lets them think and reflect about themselves. Once they reflect this will make them process their thinking order to the higher level. Self-reflection also then encourage individuals to make self-talk.

They will question and answer it based on the information or hint given. Individuals also need feedback from the others especially those who close to the individual or the society. Related information also needs to be mentioned to the targeted individual. In the story, MR Mendez told the main character that all the performer has their own backstory. Even though they have a bad backstory but they can overcome it and become a successful performer. As a conclusion, the short story shows that social is part of learning process. In learning, individual also needs support and something or someone that inspires them.
