INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE QUADRAVERB PLUS

Please refer to the Quadraverb manual for details of how to send data from the Quadraverb to another device (your computer). I suggest that you reinitialise the Quadraverb Plus (only after saving to the computer any non factory program patches that might be required later) as follows: With power connected and the unit switched off, press and hold both the PROGRAM and BYPASS buttons, then switch on the unit while holding the buttons in. When you see BASIC PROGRAM on the screen, release both buttons. When you scroll through the programs, BASIC PROGRAM will disappear, never to be seen again, and all the original factory programs should be present. Note that programs from 90 or 91 to 99 are blanks so this is normal as from the factory. Press MIDI and go through the pages with the page up or down buttons until you see the channel number setting. Set this to OMNI, if available (should be seen after 16), with the value up or down buttons, otherwise leave on channel 1. Press PROGRAM to return to normal display. Then you must enable sysex exclusive receive. Press MIDI, go through the pages until you see SYSTEM EXCLUSIVE RECEIVE: OFF (or something similar) and using the up or down value buttons set to ON. Press PROGRAM to return to normal display. Data cannot be transferred to the unit unless you enable system exclusive receive. After the receiving of data (my programs) is confirmed you can turn it off again if you want. After that you should connect the MIDI out cable to MIDI in of the unit. Import my data file into the sysex program on your computer, then send that data to the unit. This should take a few seconds to do. Hopefully that is all there should be to it.

Welcome to your newly programmed Quadraverb Plus You now have at your disposal 91 pre-programmed sounds, many of which originated from famous old echo units now virtually unobtainable. Some of the programs are based on the echo units that were used on many of The Shadows hits. Included are other desirable echo sounds and effects. A list is enclosed for easy reference. In many cases a similar echo sound was used on several recordings, so some of the programs will be used with more than one tune. The list of hits is for guidance, and based on our research and listening tests, but you are also encouraged to experiment by playing/matching any given echo sound with the chosen piece. You may occasionally find personal preferences that are different to the programs suggested. TO SET UP THE SYSTEM: Connect guitar to R input, connect R output to amp input. If your amp has a well designed series effects loop you may obtain better performance by connecting the guitar to the amp input and connecting the R input and output jacks to the effects loop. Ensure that the PROG button is lit after switching on, if not, press the PROG button. Set the level of the Quadraverb so that the first green LED will light and the third only when playing hard chords. Set the output level to send the desired level to the amp. TO CHANGE PROGRAMS: Use the up or down value buttons, or hold the PROG button in, press the numbered buttons corresponding to the program number required, then release the PROG button. Use the BYPASS button to toggle effect on/off. PRECAUTIONS: Never press the STORE button without understanding its use. If you press it accidentally, press the PROG button. Programs could be lost if you do not use the STORE button correctly. Because the unit has many user features and possible adjustments you must fully understand ANY operation you intend to carry out, as some operating sequences will permanently alter programs or even remove them from the units memory. Note that Echoes From The Past programs are not factory programs, therefore never carry out any operation that attempts to restore factory programs. For more advanced operations you should consult the Alesis manual. We will normally reprogram your unit free of charge provided that your unit was properly registered by us in your name. Under normal circumstances you will only be expected to pay for any replacement battery required and any shipping costs involved. In case of difficulty contact Charlie Hall on 01353 666414
