But until nowadays, Indonesia still depends highly on the other countries. Thats why mostly all of the changes in the world, includes in Globalization, gives effects to Indonesia for almost all fields, two of them are for Indonesian Economy and Indonesian ulture. hanges happen everywhere and anytime. different or new from the beginning. hange means that things become

needs, a new alteration is more appropriate, and another reasons. !uman being is one of Gods creatures that uni"ue, mobile, and always ma#es an alteration as the time goes. $eople are always trying to adapt with the situation and the environment in which where they live, that main purpose is to survive. %or e&ample is one of changes in human being in case of adapting with the environment changes, evolution. It proves that people tend to move on and adapt with the situation and social changes in which they live 'mobile(. The changes are not )ust in evolution or gene sides but also in another field such as cultures, policies, behavior, economy and etc. In their entire live, people always learn and do alterations to their cultures that appropriate with their needs in gazing social changes and the changes of environment which also give an impact to the economy. This is a common thing because cultures are created and inherited from one generation to another generation to fulfill their own necessaries, as individual or furthermore as a group. %rom this fact, we cant deny that

people and their cultures always change as the situation and their needs alter. Because of that, there is no even a single culture that doesnt undergo a change or have a static characteristic 'always be the same(. The social change is a change that happens due to the impropriate situation between social element and culture in which different each other. *ccording to +i#ipedia, social change refers to an alteration in the social order of a society. It may refer to the notion of social progress or socio,cultural evolution, the philosophical idea that society moves forward by dialectical or evolutionary means. It may refer to a paradigmatic change in the socio,economic structure, for instance a shift away from feudalism and towards capitalism. Thus, -o culture in the world can survive if unchanged. In order to survive, the cultures of the world have always , and must always , adapted to new conditions and realities. There are several reasons and factors that could ma#e a process of an alteration. The first factor is. increasing in amount of citizen. Increasing in amount of citizen plays a big role in the process of an alteration. %or e&ample, alteration of the Indonesia people way of thin#ing. In a few decades ago, the people have a principle or thin#ing way that /the more children, the more benefits. But as the time flows, now, the entire world and of course Indonesia, is facing a population problem li#e the more people, the more necessities are needed, ne&t as the time flows, the comple&ity of human needs are increasing, then finally the change happens and unavoidable. 0low but sure, some of the people have changed they principle that the more children, the more burdens that they should responsible of. *nd also because of the amount of citizen in Indonesia, government faces a big deal in economy, because it gives a big burden to the economy of Indonesia. The second factor is the new inventions, innovations, or discoveries, such as the invention of how to cultivate the fields better and more efficient in Indonesia. In few years ago, Indonesia people used to process their field using /The sawah,#erbau tradition1 which have developed early in the course of the domestication of rice, as both

rice and water buffalo have swampy and riverine areas as their natural environment. But now, some Indonesian people are used to using a machine to cultivate the land or the fields rather than using sawah,#erbau tradition way. In their opinion, they are prefer in choosing this 2modern method because they can produce or cultivate more efficient than if they use a tradition way that use buffalo. This is the e&ample of an alteration in Indonesia due to the new innovation or discovery. The third factor is controversy or conflict between the society, such as the problematic relationship between adapt and islam in 3inang#abau. The problematic relationship between them has led the change and the alteration in ma#ing rules and courses of action. It is tal#ed about incessantly. * great deal of what people say or do is rationalized and )ustified by reference to one of the system. *dat and Islam are "uite obviously and e&plicitly conceived as two distinct systems. In villages, in towns, among farmers, intellectuals, and civil servants, there are protagonist of Islam and of 2pure adapt who try to e&pand the sphere of validity of their own system. They will establish the general superiority of their system by reinterpreting as much as possible of the other system in terms of their own. The ne&t factor is a rebellion or a reformation by the people. The e&ample is when a reformation happened in Indonesia in 4556. Because of the reformation, the social change, the government aspects, and many another aspects changing are happened. The system of government was changer from 2orde baru to the system of 2reformation. The power of the chief of the country was restricted and people had a right to hand over their opinions, critics which was totally different with the government had had before. The culture or the behavior by the citizen that reluctant to yell their aspiration to the government became braver. -e&t is Globalization. Globalization means that countries in the world become more close each other, and there is a decrease in barrier for trading each other. Globalization happened because of the development of technology and communication among the country, so the culture of a country can be spread and #new by another

country and furthermore can be accepted by the country. %or e&ample is the culture or habit to use spoon and for# to eat by the 7utch. In the first time, the Indonesian was not used to use spoon or for# as a tool to eat. But because of the 7utch coming, the Indonesian who was initially used hand to eat, finally could accept the 7utch culture to eat. This is the e&ample of how globalization can spread a culture from a country to another. It is )ust depend on the receiver country, whether the culture is appropriate with their habit, or the culture cant be accepted. In one hand, a globalization, especially for Indonesia can be a benefit or on the contrary, disadvantages. 0o, in the matter of globalization, Indonesia should ma#e a good planning, organizing, leading and controlling so in reaching the purpose, Indonesia can get the benefits. ulture is a system, it means that the system is integrating and depending on each other. * changing of culture in one field can influence another side. This can be seen by the penetration of the lu&ury goods in Indonesia, as the globalization spreads and Indonesian economy8salary increase, that based on the data, Indonesian from the middle economy class is highly increase . Indonesians nowadays becomes more consumptive than they were before. +e could see this by the improvement of interest to a high class brand such as *pple products, clothes products 'e&. Gucci, alvin 9lein, :uic#silver,

etc(, and the other high class product. +e also could find this by the legions of the high class brand 0tores in Indonesia, that is e&ist every where. The higher demands of this high class brand are followed by the higher amount of the supply. It proves that the increase of one field in economy due to the globalization, gives an effect to the culture of peoples consumptive behavior. Its not a big deal as long as they afford to buy the things and they buy it due to the rational needs not )ust because of a temporary willingness. But it becomes a bad culture in economy when the people buy the things and become consumptive despite their disable to buy that. %rom this e&ample, another alteration is easier to happen and another alteration will be happened in a row or after the other. *s the communication and the technology in almost all of the sides, the globalization is become easier to spread to entire of the world. Globalization also

influences many sides of culture or economy, and as culture is a system and integrated each other, globalization has made many changing in many aspects, such as. Technology and economy. the technology is developing day by the day. ;ne of the factor is globalization, when people are trying to attract the consumer by a new gadget, appliances, or another technology tools. The other aspect is economy. +ith globalization in economy aspect, it has an advantage or even disadvantage. The advantage for e&ample is competition in the mar#et that ma#es the sellers more innovative and try to enhance their services. But the advantage is the mar#ets that cant compete with the globalization mar#et have to close their business. It shows that thee is social changes happen. 0ocial changes, globalization, have an effect to the cultures and the economy of the receiver. 0o, its )ust depends on the country whether the globalization gives a positive effects or in contrary, negative effects. Globalization is unavoidable, e&cept we deny having an interaction with another country. 0o, +hat action should be ta#en by Indonesian in the matter of facing the social changes which connected with globalization as happened a few years recently is. +e should act selectively in accepting a culture from another country. It means that the cultures from abroad are not accepted or re)ected automatically. +e have to consider whether the culture is appropriate with our behavior, habits, value, and another aspect that influence our daily life. 0o, when the culture is accepted, then the social change, and the economy in the society could act positively and the culture gives a benefit to the citizen. -e&t, in facing the globalization, we have to act smartly and appreciate our own culture. In globalization, the social change is very easy to be happened. The art culture from one country can be regarded as another countrys, for e&ample, when 3alaysia tried to ta#e our art cultures. *nother country can en)oy our culture but it doesnt mean that they can easily regard the culture as theirs. 0o, in order to face the globalization, as Indonesian, +e should act smartly, appreciate what we have had, and act carefully, so Indonesia can adapt with the social change in culture and finally get the benefits from globalization .

*s the globalization can give an advantages or disadvantages, we, as Indonesian should face that in the field of economy smartly. The economy of Indonesia should be made the same as the meaning of 2urban growth in the article of 2Kampungisasi or Urbanization in which its associated with )ob availability in Industry, trade, commerce, and services to the citizen. *lso, there is should be a e"uality in economy, the culture of giving the priority to the high class economy people should be erased, because fundamentally, all of the citizens have a same right to be protected by the government. In order to answer the "uestion. /+hat are the effects of Indonesian economy improvement as the globalization spread to the entire of the world to the ulture of Indonesia<1 there would be two effects, positive in negative. 0o, it )ust depends on the countrys ability to adapt with the social change and control the development of all the aspects, so all of them could be grown proportionally and there is no aspect that leaved behind. ;ne of the e&amples of the failure of the government to face the globalization that left behind the other country which leads to the une"ual economy, finally emerges the culture of Begging in Indonesia as written in the article of /Phantasm of shock : the street and the house1. This is a big social change when in a few decades ago there was )ust a little beggar, but if we compared with now, the social changes in begging have became a common culture to some of the people. Beggar should be given a special attention, because as the time goes, it becomes a bad culture that people get used to it, and the bad social changes could be accepted by the people ma#es the situation is getting worse, because it ma#es a lazy mentality to the citizen that )ust depends on the other without any efforts. Thus, what Indonesia needs in facing the globalization, social changes to enhance the economy and the appropriate culture is the commitment from all of the sides of the country. Government,Institution and the society. +hen there is harmony and trust between them, another good aspect of economy and culture would come. The ne&t is the means to reach that, for e&ample is in the article that the #iese people were united by Gol#ar for gol#ar. In Indonesia, the united tool is $ancasila which is the fundamental direction for Indonesia that is ta#en from the roots and the appropriate culture of

Indonesia. In conclusion, I thin# if we could mi& all of the aspects with the same purpose, to develop this countrys economy with a mannered culture, Indonesia could face the globalization and become one of the greatest countries in the world, and finally the welfare and the prosperity of the people in Indonesia could be reached.
