Companies invited to join a drafting group via Water UK 15 water companies involved Comments on CESWI 6 were invited via Water UK Sub groups looked at sections in CESWI Whole document reviewed together A draft sent out via Water UK for comments Comments received and incorporated Dec 2010 Other Companies contacted if not in drafting group

Changes to CESWI

Lots of small changes were made All 11 section titles stayed the same Alphabetical order within the sections Tried to keep the same subjects in the same places Clauses updated with current practice New clauses/sub clauses have been added to every section Standards and document references updated

Key Changes

Aligned with all forms of contract (used to be just ICE) Removal of Contract Administrator Updated clauses subsequent to new guidelines published (e.g. 1.16 Water Supply Hygiene Guidance) Single statement about legislation, direct references removed Deleted clauses not relevant anymore (e.g. waterproof paper) New clauses added e.g. abandonment of water mains (Section 5)
